Re: 79 650 z-free
not sure what you mean. The head cover? The covers on each end of the motor on top? Just whatever the company made it with at the factory. There are a whole bunch of 8mm bolts holding the covers on. Well, they are the original ones because the bike sat 23 years unmolested. You want them,$5.00 plus shi...

Re: muffler repair
I was wondering if the muffler metal is thick enough to weld. My mufflers had been patched on the bottom with stainless steel, welded there by a TIG device. Stainless steel can be polished and it even did not look bad then. The junctions are probably more difficult as you have mechanic load there. ...

Re: craigslist question about a 650 I found.
They might still work fine. Mine look like that and are good. If you look on amazon for those you can get them new(i think they are off brand) for 25 i'm pretty sure. Most electrical problems seem to be dirty connections. You can easily lose voltage and melt things if your connectors are dirty enou...

Re: I have one head bolt that wont come out
1. Clean the bolt head from oil and grease. 2. Soak a thin sheet of paper in Loctite. 3. Cover the bolt head with the paper. 4. Press the 12mm socket on it. 5. Wait for a while (until Loctite is hard). 6. Pull the socket with the bolt. 7. Report here if it worked (never tried this there). Mak...

Re: what happened to old post about gm coils, etc
Sorry, I did not save the external Hei ignition stuff. If even the internal links (= links to other pages of this forum) do not work for you, find someone to check out your browser settings. Nevertheless this won't fix the external links (= links to "somewhere" in the depths of the intern...

Re: what happened to old post about gm coils, etc
Every link in that 27 pages of posts has all nonworking links so far.I clicked on a lot of them. I did a quick check: the external links to e.g. comcast.com and facebook do not work any more. Guess this is what you refer to? However the internal hondacb650.com links still work. Sorry, this is all w...
