NEED TO BUY: 1979 stator/rotor cover with brushes

Hi all, I'm in desperate need of a stator/rotor cover from a 1979 CB650. What I truly need is the little plastic housing thing that contains the two black blocks that make contact with the rotor. Mine broke. And they are impossible to find. And I want to cry. Got these parts? I will pay a decent amo...

WTB: alternator brushes plate

Hi all,
Searching for the plastic plate that the alternator brushes mount into on a 1979 CB650. Mine is damaged.

If you have one that will fit, happy to discuss a fair price.

What are these tubes? Where do they go?

Hi all, I continue to battle with my 1979 CB650. Two tubes coming off the carb rack currently go nowhere. On this diagram (see link), they are part number 16. (http://images.cmsnl.com/img/partslists/honda-cb650-1979-z-usa-carburetor-assy_bighu0117e6z18_7fec.gif) Does anyone know where and to what th...

New rotor, rectifier — but not charging

Hi all, I've spent a lot to buy tools and supplies to change my rotor and rectifier after my bike kept stranding me with a dead battery. It's all on the bike now. This morning, with battery at nearly 13 volts, I started it, checking for a dying battery. The battery held at 10.8 while I started. But ...

Thieves tried to steal my bike, ruined ignition -- HELP

Hi all,

Thieves tried to take my CB650, which I've had for less than a month. They successfully got the ignition cylinder out but otherwise failed — thankfully.

What are my options to replace this?

My bike: 1979 CB650, RCO3 series

Thanks for any thoughts.

Missing hose(s); what is this and how important

Hi all,
Took the tank off of the CB650 I recently purchased and found this outlet without a hose. There is an outlet on the airbox, down low, that is lacking a hose as well. I'm thinking the two are supposed to be linked.

How big of an issue is this? The bike runs rough.

Re: CB650 not charging — where do I start?

First, the green wire at the turn signal relay is not supposed to be plugged into anything. It was put there just to confuse people. Will definitely check the rotor. Any idea why an LED rear light would cause the red "Taillight" warning bulb at the front to come on then? I've checked and ...

CB650 not charging — where do I start?

Hi all, My '79 CB650 isn't charging and has stranded me a few times. The battery is new and I've trickle charged it several times. Other electrical issues on my bike are that the brake light (aftermarket, installed by previous owner) does not work when you apply the brake. The taillight does work. T...

Re: New to forum, bike-build advice/tips

Thanks for the thoughts!

I gather, then, that finding an 18 inch rear from a European Z model will be an exercise in pain and money-spending? If so, I'm okay leaving the 17 on the back for now.

I also gather the 1979 US model is a pretty rare thing. I like that.

Off topic but what wheels are those? They look like 18 inchers on both ends. Very interested in having 18s on both ends of my bike. Let me know. :)

New to forum, bike-build advice/tips

Hi all. Great forum. I'm new. And of course, I have questions. I've just purchased a 1979 CB650 (see attachment)— typically referred to as an RC03 or Z. I'll be building it into what I want and have some questions. 1) Rear wheel: Currently it's a 17-inch wheel. While it looks okay, I'd like to go to...
