Re: Odd problem
I was afraid it was the cam. I've checked it three time and it all looks correct. The engine turns good by hand. But it won't even try to fire even if I use starting fluid. And I definitely has spark. I'm gonna have to try taking it apart again and check everything one more time

Odd problem
So I have a 1980 honda cb650. I got this bike not running so it's been rather difficult for me. I got it running for about 30 seconds and it was leaking oil from the head. So I replaced all seals made sure the valves and time correct. Have spark. However she won't start. I am however shooting gas ou...

Re: Cam problems
Okay new problem. I can't adjust the valve clearance on some. I can't adjust because the cam is too high to allow for adjustment. I can not adjust the following: Cyl 1 in Cyl 2 in Cyl 3 ex I keep thinking I messed up on the cam chain adjustment but everything looks good. Cam is lined up with the rig...

Re: Cam problems
That did the trick! I took a screw driver and got as much seperation as I could, then took anther to pull it up onto the shoulder. I had to take it off because at first I didn't have everything lined up... but second times the charm and it is all back together now. Just going to do valve clearances ...

Cam problems
Hello! I have a 1980 honda cb650. I am changing the head gasket on my bike and I've ran into a problem. I cannot get the sprocket onto the shoulder of the cam. I have tried prying it with a couple screw drivers and I don't have enough slack to get it on. So I have the head back off and I'm trying to...

Re: Led turn signal fuse blows
So this bike was a mess when I got it electrically. Turns out he had two turn signal flashers and they caused my fuse to blow.

Re: Stripped oil pan screw
So I dropped the pan and the bolt was one stubborn bastard. The threads on the pan where shot. Not sure how I didn't leak oil. The gasket the PO used was just a normal washer not a copper one. I threaded the hole a little bigger and put a new bolt in it. She's as good as new!

Stripped oil pan screw
Hello! I have a 1980 cb650. I recently bought the bike and started it up for the first time. Turns out I need to change the head gasket because it is heavily leaking oil from the gasket. I'm pretty sure the PO took the engine apart to paint it and use the same gaskets. So I get my gasket kit and I t...

Re: Finishing up my cb650
It's a 1980. The seat is 18.5cm wide 53cm long. I got the seat off of an app called wish. Costed me 53 bucks and is actually pretty darn good quality.

Led turn signal fuse blows
I recently upgraded my 1980 honda cb650 to led turn signals. I started with the rear led bar, tested and it works great. Then I plugged in the front turn signals, powered on, and it blows my fuse. I though maybe the lights where defective so I hooked them up directly to the battery and they turn on ...

Carb problem
Howdy! I have a 1980 honda cb650. This is my first project bike. On my 4th cylinder carb, the throttle valve won't slide through the carb. Out of curiosity I took the 1st cylinder throttle valve and it doesn't go in smooth either. Both throttle valves fit perfectly into the 1st cylinder. I'm at a lo...

Jetting carbs for air pods
Hello! I have a 1980 honda cb650. I recently got it and it has air pods on it and I was told I would have to jet my carbs to make them run without the back pressure. Does anyone know any good jet kits I could get? I was told to get mukini jets, but I'm not sure exactly what I'll need to do it. If yo...
