Re: Right gasket set but different head gasket.

Hi hoops and welcome. As far as I was able to work out the differences between the gaskets is down to the carburetor types used on the engines. A cylinder head from a 79/80 engine with slide carbs won't fit on an 81/82 engine with CV carbs. I'm presuming (by my own theory  ) that the gasket fo...

Nice looking bike sprygurr, shame about those pinholes  or you could've kept the original paint. Here is a picture of mine that was taken a couple of months ago.

Re: Coil Relay Mod on 83 650

Its' just a little trick to improve your spark by a couple of percentage points. When the power has to travel though the entire wiring harness to get to the coils, you lose as much as a full volt. By going directly from the battery, you get full battery power each time. HA! next thing you'll ...

Re: any opinions on these different carburetor rebuild kits?

I rebuild carbs as a hobby, so I buy o-rings in bulk from Marcos Rubber, and stainless steel hex bolts from Bolt Depot. That is basically what I had to resort to, I bought a box of assorted size O-rings from ebay but I tested them first by dropping one in a small pot of petrol to see if they actual...

Re: any opinions on these different carburetor rebuild kits?

Hi juntjoo and welcome. What year and model bike do you have? has it got slide carbs or CV carbs as both of these sets are for CV type. If you are unsure what type they are then you can check by looking at the side of the carb, just above the float bowl for the part number. I do apologize if you alr...

Re: First Bike, 1981 CB650C

Hi Chris and welcome, as CB650 said, nice bike for the price. Have you got any plans for it or are you keeping it as it is? I like my CB650's in stock condition as they aren't very common here in the UK.

Re: My CB650

Ah they were the days! I bought a 400/4 for £100 and rode it into the ground, when the engine blew after a year I sold it on for spares for more than I paid for it  I'll be selling on my CB650 Custom in the spring as I just don't need three bikes and I'm in the process of fixing up my 82 Nighth...

Re: My CB650

The bike in the link is very nice but I just don't get this header wrapping thing, if I've got chrome I want it to sparkle. Call me an old fart but lots of years ago I knew blokes that were doing this "Brat" style to BSA's and Triumph's but they were called customs, the craze then was to m...
