Re: Running great one night, died the second
Thanks for the help guys I think I figured it out. The rubber gaskets in the carb bowls broke apart and clogged up the jets. I was having trouble getting them in so I used a bit of gasket maker to hold them in place and that solidified and broke loose clogging up the carbs.

Re: Running great one night, died the second
I have been able to get the filter out pretty easily so I will check that to make sure. And by plugs I'm guessing you're meaning spark plugs, and when I pulled those they were black most likely due to an overrich mixture.

Re: Running great one night, died the second
Yes, I checked those wires and both are still putting out right around 530ohms so that didn't disconnect! And no I did not do that as I do not know how. I'll check those carbs tonight!

Re: Running great one night, died the second
Sorry for the confusion, yes I meant engine power. And I have gone through the carbs multiple times and they seemed to be working fine, they've been synched and everything. But it is quite possible that they could have gotten gunked up. I'll check that today!

Running great one night, died the second
Hello all, I have been working on my 1982 nighthawk cb650sc and finally got it running! It ran great, rode it around all night probably went around 10-15 miles and it seemed to be running great. I then got on it to ride yesterday and it was a little slow to start but it did start. I rode it for all ...

Re: No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc
Found that the blue wire was severed! It got pinched in the clutch cover when I was replacing the clutch and starter clutch. I rewired it up and it's putting out 531 ohms just like the other. Thanks for the help, glad I found the problem. Pretty easy fix once I did!

Re: No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc
Okay will do. I found one for an 81' so I'll see if that'll work and check the wires for a break. What a pain! Thank you all for the help.

Re: No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc
Correct, everything is brand new except the two pickups. Anyone know of a good place to get one?

Re: No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc
Thanks a ton for the help! I tested the two yellow wires and they tested out at 531 ohms but I did not get any reading from the two blue wires. So I am guessing one of those wires got pinched or came loose. Or could that pickup gone bad?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Here are a few pictures of what I'm working with. Just need help checking the continuity of the two blue wires coming out of my pulse generator.
Thanks

Re: No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc
Thanks for replying so soon! I have cleaned all the connections and that didn't seem to cure the problem. I am pretty new to this but I have a multimeter and light bulb circuit tester and I am just not sure how to test the continuity coming out of the pulse generator. Also, this 82 doesn't use the p...

No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc
Hello all, I have a 1982 nighthawk cb650sc with a few problems. I've started narrowing down the no spark problem and have replaced the starter solonoid, ignition coils, spark plugs/wires/caps, and also both spark units. I am getting spark from the right coil(yellow and black wires), going to cylinde...

1982 Nighthawk CB650sc Starting troubles
Hello all, I have been working on this bike for the whole summer now. I bought it 3 years ago, rode it often then moved off to college and it sat. I went through the carbs, cleaned them and put them back together. I rebuilt the starter clutch, the springs were shot and the torx bolts holding it in w...
