.050 new bore - are new jets needed?
Got my 1981 CB650 (regular not custom) re-bored .050 over and new pistons and head work done. (a little porting and a new valve here and there) Doesn't run well over 5K. I still use the stock airbox and stock exhaust. Do I need to look at new jetting? What would you suggest if that was the case? I r...

Re: 1981 CB650 Air cutoff valve
Ahhh yes, you are correct sir! Thank you Volker. :D So the question changes a little to: Does anyone know of a rebuild kit for the Vacuum (fuel) Shutoff valve? It seems as if this little valve was only produced for the 1981 bike and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I even downloaded K&L's catal...

Does anyone supply a rebuild kit for this model? It's a single unit between carbs 3 & 4.
Thanks,
Todd

Re: Extra O-Rings from kit
Never mind - I'm pretty sure they do go on the valve guides.

Extra O-Rings from kit
Hello everyone,
I had my engine apart and have this NE brand gasket kit - Sucks - anyway, I have 8 leftover o-rings. They are roughly 10mm i.d. x 1.6mm thick. They are green in color.
Anybody know where they go?
Thanks,
Todd

Re: Front Wheel Spokes Ping Pop Ting when rolling **Fixed**
Wheel was really out of alignment. I just slapped the forks I rebuilt back on and paid no attention to alignment or anything. The bike was putting sideways pressure on the front wheel.

Re: Strange headlight problem
Just as a follow up to anybody that reads this, I just soldered the source wire (blue w/white stripe) to the blue wire. Permanent low beam headlight for now. I purchased two replacement left hand controls from flea bay. Both look perfect, cost about $36 with shipping. I also purchased the cheap Chin...

Front Wheel Spokes Ping Pop Ting when rolling **Fixed**
My front wheel spokes go "Ping" when rolling my bike around. Jacked it up, spun the front wheel, its straight. Tapped the spokes with a wrench, all had the same pitch and were tight. What the heck? Any advice?
Thanks,
Todd

Re: New Fork Seals - Did I just screw up my forks???
Number 6 above - I put some fork oil on the copper ring, then I lightly, lightly tapped the copper sleeve to start it in. Put the thick washer on top of it and used my pvc pipe as a seal driver and drove the ring down into place then I did the fork seal. ***Remember*** The fork tube and damping rod ...

Re: New Fork Seals - Did I just screw up my forks???
Didn't see it until you mentioned it. Thanks for the heads up. I looked it over, it's for the non air assisted forks. Mine are air assisted. I think this is the way mine go back together, 1. Place the damping rod through the rebound spring. 2. Drop the damping rod and spring into the fork tube. 3. P...

New Fork Seals - Did I just screw up my forks???
Ordered new fork seals the other day for my 81 w/air. I've taken forks apart before, no problem. These things were nasty. Brown rust mud was all that came out. Only a little of it at that. Let me back up a little bit, I took the forks off the bike. Brought the forks home. Took the caps off and dumpe...

Re: Strange headlight problem
Its amazing that those tiny little copper pads that just brush up against another tiny little pad (exactly level with the plastic that holds it in place) are what "drives" the head light. I can see for the dash lights and stuff, but for your headlight??? I'm thinking of buying one of those...
