Re: Having trouble splitting the Crankcases on my 1979 CB650.
Volker_P - Thanks for the response and sorry for my late reply. I'm yet to put it all back together so I will take a look at the starter clutch as you've mentioned, thanks. I've checked bearings, etc with the assistance of a mechanic friend and his micrometer and plastigauge and am happy to report t...

Re: Having trouble splitting the Crankcases on my 1979 CB650.
GeorgeSweety - Thanks for your concern mate. yes, I was glad to get it apart. Sounds like your case is going to a trickier issue with what you've mentioned. I made a bit more progress before enjoying my summer and leaving the bike alone entirely. But it's that time or year again where I tend to want...

Looking for a 36X57X13 - Countershaft Seal
Hi all, I'm still working away on my 1979 CB650, I'll have to do an update here soon. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can track down a 36X57X13 - Countershaft Seal these days? They seem to be pretty hard to track down.....
Here's a pic or two of my build at the moment. Thanks in advance!

Re: Having trouble splitting the Crankcases on my 1979 CB650.
Ok, well I managed to get the clutch off, the primary shaft out and the Crankcase split today. Anyone wants pics, info, etc, feel free to let me know. I'll start looking at the bearings now and see if they need replacing.

Having trouble splitting the Crankcases on my 1979 CB650.
Hi All, Just hoping I can get some friendly advice on the splitting of my Crankcases on my 1979 CB650. I'm a fair way through my build and have had the top end cleaned up, bored out, etc. I've decided to split the cases to check the bearings and chains, etc. I have all the bolts out, top and bottom ...

Re: Motogadget m-unit
Hi Guys, I'm planning on getting a M-unit Blu soon too. I'm just waiting on my custom hoop, cowl, electrics tray, to be done, its taken a while to get it done and sent. It's been designed to fit the slightly different design of the newer M-unit Blu. I'll be interested to see anyone else doing the Mo...

Re: Carpy Yoshimura Exhaust for 1979 CB650
Ok great. I agree, it’s hard work with these 650’s. I should be adding some updates to my build page soon, so take a look and see what you think. Rear hoop and cowl should be next.

Re: Carpy Yoshimura Exhaust for 1979 CB650
Hi bendiesel3, Nothing eventuated, but he did stay in touch and he tried to come up with some options. I'd suggest giving him a call, if he hear's from other people wanting the same thing, he said he'd look at creating a jig for it and start supplying them. I'm still in.

Re: G’day! I’m an Aussie in Canada with a 1979 CB650!
Finally time to put something new onto the bike rather than just pulling it apart. I feel like I’m getting somewhere now! It took me quite a while to make sure I had it all correct, hopefully.... double checked spacers and wanted to get the lower bearing spacing right because it’ll be a pain to have...
