Re: '82 cb650sc project

Oh yeah, that!...I'm not going with PODS, been there, struggled with that when the PO originally got the bike. It ran so much better with the pods removed and a stock air box reinstalled. I'm going to keep the portion of the air box that contains the carb boots. The air filter section will be rework...

Re: '82 cb650sc project

no, it's not the camera angle. This seat was made to use the stock seat pan on a '78 cb750k to retain the seat hinges and latch. I have some other ideas that will be much smaller. will post pics later. Another question that crosses my mind is whether there is value to having a rear inner fender to p...

Re: My 650

Nice! What did you have to do tuning-wise to get it to run well with those air intakes? The exhaust shows some good fab skills.

Re: Handlebar options?

Recently got an '82 nighthawk and was facing the same dilemma. One option is clip-ons, but I didn't want to have to put dents in the tank for clearance. Took a look at my pile of bars taken from parts bikes and found a pair of aftermarket bars with an almost 90 degree bend between the vertical part ...

Re: Engine displacement vs stated CC's ???

I'm not an engine guy, but I know enough to get myself in trouble, so here goes with an opinion with my reasoning to back it up. Engines are labeled with the displacement of the engine. Displacement indicates movement..."displaced" or the amount of of air moved by the piston. The volume of...

Re: '82 cb650sc project

Here are the promised pictures...as we got it and initial mockup of possibilities. the mocked up tank and seat are borrowed from an on-going cb750 project, so they are for visualization purposes. Plans also include handlebars in a clip-on position or a modified set of clubmans. Headlight and gauges ...
