Who's gone to 60mm pistons?

Has anyone machined cylinders and installed 60.8 mm pistons like those sold out of Japan in this link?:

Re: variety jet kits

Well, if anyone is interested, the source was right under my nose. In the States, it's Dime City, of course.

variety jet kits

Hello, all. Does anyone know of a source for main and pilot jets, kits that come with a variety, or singles? I'm revisiting my carbs during a top-end job, and I have some variables that make me want to experiment with the entire set up. I'm pretty sure the jets were drilled out by the P.O., so I don...

Re: 4 into 1 or 2 into 2 exhaust?

I think the only reason to stick with 2 into 2 is if the symmetry of double exhaust appeals to you. There's something to be said for that double-barrel look; it adds a classic, era-specific look to the 650.

Re: The easy way to get carbs back on.

I have had success using a hairdryer. But one has to aim it at the boots for some time, like, really a long time. I did it last time in my garage in January, when it was about 20 degrees F outside. It took about 20 minutes of heat. But they went on DRY. I think the ratchet strap is a great idea; I'm...

Different Brush Lengths?

Hello, all. Can anyone confirm that alternator brushes are just slightly different in length when new...with the top brush (referred to as brush 'A' in the parts schematic) being just slightly longer? I've replaced mine during my charging system rebuild with new ones, and A is about 2 mm, or 1/8 inc...

Re: Foreign Object in Combustion Chamber - HELP

Ugghh. The variables that you can't control are the worst. How big is the renegade tang piece? Could you count rotations and piston position and make an educated guess as to where the piece is now, based on the number of gentle rotations that you made? Man, I'm guessing that--like me--you're a puris...

NICE. Slick look and feel. I appreciate the inspiration found in 'other' materials. Everything comes together.

Re: rotor removal

Thanks, dude. I'm super glad that you like it. I don't have decent color photos yet, but they're coming. The tank and headlight bucket are a graphite metallic. Everything else is black. The seat is from an '05 Triumph Speed Triple, which I cut down and reframed with some plastic that I harvested fro...

Thanks for the tip. I still haven't found a solution; it could just be that there's thread damage. I may have to employ a die and create new threads...

rotor removal

Hello, all. I've been a passive member for about 6 years, and have been working on my '82 cb650 for the last 4, on weekends, 10 minutes here, one hour there, scouting parts on the internet while not in the garage (I've attached a picture). I've never posted, because I didn't think I had much to cont...
