Rain proofing coils update

This is just an idea i got. The rh coil under the gas tank can be easily seen and exposed to the elements unless you're running a fairing or moved them. Photos of what i did using a lawn tractor tire tube as a wrap.

Re: rainproofing? plugs, caps etc.

Got an idea: bought a cheap inner tube for lawn tractor; plan to cut it and wrap around the coils. will tie with zip ties and use a hole punch to feed plug wires through and seal with silicone. Still have the can of spray silicone for near the head. Won't be the prettiest job but it will be under th...

Re: The easy way to get carbs back on.

I have put them in boiling water for a few minutes. Softens them up but you have about 10 minutes to get the carb rack back on before they cool down. works good for me; just wanted to throw that out there.

May have to pull the jugs up to have the adjuster bolt align to the hole, once that is done use a wood mallet to tap it all back in place. Don't remove jugs completely only enough for the bolt. Be careful as you could destroy the jug gasket.

Re: Kenda Tires

Been using them for years. I like them, compared to a Pirelli tire i can get 2 summers out of a rear tire. A little harder tread but for me they last.

Re: socal1200r's Caliper Question

Try a master cylinder off of a dual disc 650 or a Honda four wheeler. As long as the banjo bolt is the same that type for dual front brakes hooked to the single caliper makes better braking power. I have used the m/c off of my 450 Foreman and its easier to bleed, makes it stop quicker til you get us...

Re: inlet manifolds.

Try turning the idle adjuster knob up a bit. Right side of the carbs, can reach it sitting on the bike. Yours may need a 1/2 turn. Try that first. Get it to idle at home then grab a portable propane torch, open valve and poke around the intakes, if the idle speeds up you either have a loose clamp or...
