piston ring sizing questions

if you know compresson is low and new rings are in order what size should u go with? i dont want to buy the wrong size because they are not cheap.

Darn thought The problem was solved, it is plugged all 4. I will check the suggestions u mentioned. And post an update. The fuel line is a bit Long maybe the angle is starving the carbs. And petcock is old I never cleaned it. Hope that's it.

i think you just solved the problem... i dont have any vacuum shut off valve there (automatic fuel valve). its a complete seperate assy right? i am posting pics off what i think u are reffering to. what is circled in red is missing from my set of carbs!!! DOH!!! :shock:

its an 81 cb650c. the carbs are cv type (vb44a). dont know how to check vacuum? the valve clearance is extreamly tight i am in the process of adjusting valve clearance at the moment. i believe the intake side should be .002 and the exhuast side should be .003 as the engine runs i do feel pulses of a...

could it be a vacuum issue, i read a similar issue and he had a vaccum issue dealing with a hose on the carb. i cant find one on my carb? also could id be a low compressin issue?

Timing ia okay and i have spark to all 4 cylinders. I have got to the source of the issue, not enough fuel is getting to the 3 &4 cylinders it is a carb issue. adjustment will fix this. On full choke it idles but any release of choke after that it dies. I need to adjust idle screws or something ...

okay update tank is new so i know thats good. also all valves are correct clearance. i am thinking the timing is off. any comments on that idea? i am going to try and adjust it but gotta find my gun. and just to make sure im doing it right can u post the correct timing deg. or a link for info thanks.

cables are all check they are good. fuel is in all bowls thats a check. all butterflies move as should thats a check. they carbs are not sync'd i know that for sure. just so you know exactly my senario. i got this bike about 3 weeks ago from a couple who had not ran it for over 2 years it was in bad...

Firing Issues PLEASE HELP!!!

my 1 and 2 cylinders are firing but my 3 and 4 are not. the pipes are not getting hot. i put new plugs on all and i also put new wires on all. i am stuck!! can that happen if the carbs are not sync'd? is it possible that the coil is out? please help!!!!! :cry:
