Hmmm, well if you're certain about the fuel and the compression, the problem must be with the spark. Since you've changed out the coils and wires already, check to make sure the plugs are able to get a good ground on the engine. If the area around the plug holes is dirty that could be keeping it fro...

Did you have both the throttle and choke open when you did this? If the throttle is closed the starter fluid may have difficulty getting into the chamber

I have a bit of rust inside my fuel tank. I'm considering treating it with electrolysis. I was wondering if anyone here has tried this method and what the results were.

I would check your carbs first, debris in the fuel may have clogged your jets.

They just route the fuel away from your engine when you drain the carb bowls, and are not a critical component to your bike's operation.
