Also, I just removed the carbs again and see the screw with the spring on itis that supposses to be touching the plastic choke arm? Its a good quarter inch away at all time full choke and choke off it never contacts it.....I should have a manual today so hopefully it will talk about this and I don't...

OK thanks guys...I will check on both of those today, I checked for an air leak once already but definetly worth another look. It was idling ok without the choke but now it won't idle at all....I'm assuming after I cleaned the carbs I sucked up some more crap into the pilots or didn't get them clean...

Hey guys I have a 1979 cb 650 I just got that has been sitting forever, I pulled the carbs and cleaned everything up and think I have that all squared away except one thing....with the choke fully closed I start the bike and it revs up to around 6 or 7 grand.....is there a way to adjust this? Or is ...

I got it squared away, we had had an old Suzuki at the shop that still had the tool kit in it, so I used that and popped them all out.

I just saw this thing online earlier today, not sure how I feel about it either. I can appreciate the work put into it but I'm not crazy about the mono shock rear I think

anyone in the coos bay, north bend Oregon area

I live in north bend, work in coos bay as a motorcycle mechanic and am so bored with there being no motorcycle activies here, so I am working on putting together a weekly bike night and maybe try to get some rides together, any and all bikes. Any of u guys in this area?

Thanks, I got the bike running, the carbs were in pretty rough shape but the #2 cylinder isn't firing, even sprayed a little carb cleaner thru the carb and got nothing. The coils are working so I am gonna pull the plugs and see if that one is sparking, I'm hoping its a spark issue and not a compress...

Hey guys my names Dennis, just thought I would say hi and check this place out. I'm picking up a 1979 cb650 today, gotta drive 2 and a half hours for it but the guy only wants 150 bucks so I figured I better not let it pass. Anyways, I will probably be lurking around for a while. Have a good one!

noobie...checking engine oil

hey guys, i just got a 1979 cb650 yesterday that had been sitting all winter, put a battery in it cleaned the carbs, new gas and made sure there was oil on the dipstick and it fired right up, but my question is how to i properly check the oil...hot, cold? on the side stand upright...i have had a lot...
