I'll be sad to see it go, but I'm looking forward to trading up and hitting the road. Here are some details... Approx. 31,000 Miles For t...

Center Stand

I've read that it's much better to use the center stand than the side stand. Is there a trick to getting the bike on the center stand. It's pretty hard to do... I do it when I'm doing maintenance but otherwise it's too much of a hassle to do regularly, am I doing something wrong?

Re: Price

This is obviously just a guess, but Kelley Blue Book says $1,500 would be a good price if it were in excellent condition.

Re: how was you drawn to the cb 650

First bike for me too. I wanted something with enough power in case I needed but not so much as to get in trouble. My brother in law is crazy for old Hondas, he has a XR600 and an older Shadow. We found my bike on CL for $1,200 I jumped on it. I didn't know much about the model, then I found this si...

Clutch Housing Cap

Hey, this may be stupid. But I'm adjusting the clutch according to the Clymer manual, but I'm not sure how to get the clutch housing cap off. Is it threaded? Do you need a giant screwdriver to get it off? Or does it pop off?

Cheers,

Re: Engine starts, then dies, battery ends up dead

The same thing happened to me when I got my bike. It's my first and I've never worked on a motorcycle before. It is most likely the alternator rotor It turns out it's a very common problem, but actually pretty easy. Here's a recent thread that has a video on how to check and replace the rotor. http:...

Did you make the trip? If so, how was it? Are you in SF? I'm in the South Bay Area.

Re: Serious Charging Problem

^ Volker - you should make a youtube video of you checking a rotor... Since everyone who visits the site asks how to do it (myself included).

Static Timing

Hey guys, I assume my timing is off, upon deceleration my bike backfires a little bit. I was going to set the timing according to the static timing method as described in the Clymer Manual and I had a couple of questions. First off... The manual says that dynamic is preferred, but static is satisfac...
