anyone have any experience w/clip on bars on a 82 nitehawk.seems pretty straight forward.also wondering if lowering the front by sliding the tubes up in the tree can be done safely.

removing baffles
how do I remove the exhaust pipe baffles on an 82 650 nitehawk? and when I do what changes will I have to make to the engine/carbs ? pods may be in the picture also.I know-can o worms but the guy who is buying it wants these things done so--HELP !!!

hi gang,been awhile.so,I'm selling the 82 650 nitehawk I rebuilt to a guy who wants to change things up a little.wants pods !! so has anyone here had success doing this. I hear they can be the son of satan. do I rejet & which ones do I need? any help is greatly appreciated.

dropped the oil pan & found a sandbox in there!! cant imagine how stuff that size got into the engine.no surprize that an oil port plugged up.seems to be flowing well now

I just put new rings in my 82 650 nitehawk.ran great about 200 miles-rockers a bit noisy.then real noisy.pulled the covers & #2 rockers were fried! no oil there.#1 was better-3 &4 were gushing oil.removed cam & blew air into the 4 oil ports-all clear now.ordered rockers as they were seve...

thanx Bob for the shout back. I've gone ahead & replaced the rings w/stock,honed the bores & crossed my fingers. we'll see if she still uses oil.so far she runs great.

I made new ones out of nylon bushings ,hollow center-fit the carb vents perfect. found them in the hardware store. drilled a hole,inserted a short piece of brass tube for a vent pipe. labor intensive but a permanent fix.cost a few bucks.
