Installing cylinders
Found one head bolt stripped out while cleaning the threaded holes in the block and the threads on the bolts. Removed the cylinders from the pistons and completed my Heli-coil installation. Cylinders are smooth with no ridge. What should I do to the cylinders before reinstalling, honing, crosshatchi...

Re: asking questions
My 80' std. is showing 26,000 on the odometer, but the PO changed it out. Based on the amount of carbon on the valves and pistons I would estimate less than that. So far, since I've owned it has been trailered only. Went to the steelership yesterday and they had the isolator boots and the cam bearin...

Re: speed cameras
They are so sneaky that Texas Department of Public Safety will set up phony construction sites and put state troopers in blue jeans, hard hats, refective vest and have them looking thru a laser radar mounted on a tripod like a surveyor. Behind the looky lika surveyor is five or six troopers waiting ...

Re: crash helment
The HJC helmets are comfortable but noisy. The Arai is way out of my price range. I'm leaning toward a modular unit due to the ease of putting on and taking off eyeglasses, slugging a bottle of water without taking off the helmet. Every things a trade-off, they are a bit heavier, and most are noisy....

Re: Viton O-rings @ cam bearing oil galley @ cyl. & head
Hello there GOHONDA, I just mailed em again, we'll see what happens. You may be right about the holidays and all. Where are located? I'm in Houston, the suns shining and no wind, I think I will ride instead of wrench. Thanks for your response and the tele #.

Viton O-rings @ cam bearing oil galley @ cyl. & head
I've read a few comments about the quality of Viton O-rings, does anyone know of an on-line supplier ? These might improve the time interval of the dreaded leak at the cam bearing oil galley between the cylinder and the head. I've E-mailed davidsilverspares.com, no response. Thanks a bunch to all of...

Re: how was you drawn to the cb 650
The PO said he took the head off with good intentions of replacing the head gasket. Same old story "just never got around to it, and the purchase price of $340.00 with a new head gasket sealed the deal. I've had quiet a few Honda's over the years so it didn't take much influence me to buy it. C...

Top End On an 80' cb650 std.
Another newbie here, trying to get set to reassemble the top end behind someone else's dissasembly. Seen a couple of posts pertaining to the problematic O-rings in the recess of the cylinder. Has anything developed on the availability of the custom made support rings? Can anyone give me a source for...
