carb install
I took the carbs off of my 82 cb650 and can't get them to go on all the way. There's a groove on carb that slips onto a lip on the boot that I can't get into. I've tried lubing it, beating it, prying it, and cursing at it but still can't get it to "pop" in. Even with the clamps open all th...

Re: new guy
Dual disks in 81? Is that just for the custom? I have a 82 that had a single disk. I think mine is just a cb650.

Re: Project Hobber - Bigg's Big Adventure
Your best bet to check a frame is to google it. There's a few different methods to do it and it can get pretty involved. I would start by taking off those forks though, there trash anyway. All there gonna do is decieve you when looking at the frame. You can check the trees with a straight edge. Whil...

Re: Project Hobber - Bigg's Big Adventure
Not a bad start. I would double check and make sure the frame and forks arn't bent before you get too carried away. I don't want to crush the dream but something up front doesn't look right. Hopefully its just be the handle bars that got twisted up. Forks can be replaced but if that frame is tweaked...

Re: New 1981 cb650 owner
How bout some pics. I've rode dirtbikes/ motorcycles my whole life and the two have nothing in common. As far as haters... Fuckem. Do what makes you happy, your the one that has to ride it. I might as well get death threats for what I did to mine but I think it looks great. Whatever you do make it d...

Re: Honduki
I've got no problem with constructive criticism, but I do have a problem with people that try to be a smart ass. Its the same problem I have with stock motorcycles and fat women with small cars... they just piss me off. I agree with the comment about just holding my body weight (about 220lbs)I'm goi...

Re: Honduki
Here's a pic of the steering stoper. The single post on the lower katana tree, it had 2 posts on the katana frame. The cb frame has...had a single post on the frame and 2 posts on the tree. I decided to cut from the frame because its steel and I can just weld 2 stoppers onto the frame. The tree is a...

Re: Honduki
How bout now? I still need to do the other side though. Hopefully I don't have to wait as long this time. As for the fork question, I used the katana bearings on the cb neck. The neck was the same length and diameter, but the bearing seat wasn't as tall. The tree just rides on a top cap that sits on...

Re: accelerator pump issue....wtf
There's 3 hoses that go to this accelerator pump/ automatic fuel valve (I've heard it called both). The top hose #7 goes to the petcock, #2 and 3 go into the carb. Do both of these supply fuel or is one a vent.#3 looks like a vent If they both supply fuel can I just take the guts out of the pump and...
