Re: Honduki
I'm not trying to be a smart arse but you are going to have a lot of force on this tube in this direction and it will be prone to failure, if it was a new piece of Cromoly I wouldn't worry about it, but being a 30 year old piece of steel with an unknown amount of corrosion inside I have doubts on it...

It's amazing how some people can't take a little constructive criticism  , and I'll welcome you to ride your bike to my house, I hope it can swim because you have a lot of water to cover. I don't care how long you have been riding and how many times you have nearly written yourself off, you ob...

Re: Honduki
Ok it is your call on the extra prop, but that frame will be prone to cracking just under the gusset you put in, it is a lot of load on a little tube, if the frame cracks and you end up sliding down the road on your face, you and the bike will look really cool, just remember it is your life you're g...

Re: Is there any saving this fuel tank?
If you can remove all the rust to get back to shiny metal you can lead wipe the tank to seal the holes, I did my 650 over 12 months ago and it is still good. One way to remove the rust is place the tank in a vinegar bath.

Re: New battery but won't keep a charge or start!
The most common thing that happens on these bikes is the rotor shorts out and fries the rectifier, if you have to replace one replace the other as well other wise you will have troubles down the track.

Re: Gas cap stuck!
Try pouring some wd40 in the key hole and let it soak for a couple of hours then try the key by working it back and forwards a few times, repeat the wd40 if it doesn't work the first time, I haven't had a lock beat me using this method, including the padlocks on the doors of my boat that lives on sa...

Re: Speedo and Tach conversion for 1985 650 Nighthawk?
If the later model used an electronic tach, that would make what I did with mine even easier, and an electronic speedo would be easier again, click the link and check it out  Here's a few pictures of the finished product. http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g339/a_z862/PA110258.jpg http://i109...

This is what I did with my 650Z, it should be possible to make them fit on the later model 650's though it may require a little imagination.

If you go slightly smaller sprockets it will improve your acceleration but at a cost of higher revs at highway speed

Re: New here got 2 650's
Welcome here! :D for the Z-Model the exhaust looks quite small. Are these the 4-4 silencers? Interesting seat. Just upholstered or is there a pocket underneath? Turn signals look a bit like CB550 style. How does on get both stands down at once? The SC obviously needs some work. And a more sui...
