Re: Left hand high/low beam, indercater assembly

It's pretty easy to get off. Three screws on the actual part itself and it comes off. The wiring is not inside the bars. It runs down the handlebar and plugs into the wiring harness inside the headlight bucket. You will need to remove the headlight to get to the plug.

I'm glad I could help! I learned this on the DOHC forum.

Re: High idle help

When I rebuilt mine, the idle was too high as well. Turns out one of the throttle butterflies had a burr on it, and was not allowing it to close completely. This held the others open as well.

Did you have a chance to check those fuses yet? I'm curious.

Re: 1982 CB650SC Wiring

I just re-read your original post. Since you are trying to reconnect them, the third green almost certainly attaches inside the headlight bucket. I've taken a bit of your wiring diagram and indicated the wires in question:

Re: 1982 CB650SC Wiring

It's funny that I just dug up this old picture for another thread. These are the extra wires that are in the headlight bucket for the non-Nighthawk CB650s: https://s20.postimg.cc/7bo4zt9q5/cb650_wires.jpg The black and brown are both hot wires. Greens are grounds. The Nighthawk may have an extra gre...

Re: 1981 cb650c charging issues

I would think it would blow a fuse, but what else has the PO done? Have you checked the fuses--even the back side of the fuse holder? Maybe they bypassed it somehow. what about the main fuse on the starter solenoid? It's hard to find one these days that someone has not replaced that fuse with a piec...

Re: 1981 cb650c charging issues

The key switch can potentially be fix just by turning it on and off about fifty times. Sometimes they get a bit of corrosion on them and this will clear it off. The brown and black wires are both hot wires. I can't imagine that its a good thing that these two be connected. I looked at my old picture...

Re: 1981 cb650c charging issues

Three rotors is quite excessive. And $350 a pop is very pricey! From where are you getting them at that price? Rick's Electrics sells new ones for less than half that: https://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com/results/ Before you replace all your electrical components again, we need to sort out that wiri...

Re: My other project: 1975 GL1000

These old Honda's do have a lot in common. Although I like the Goldwing, I swore I'd never work on another one. Too much trouble getting all the stuff off. :P Here is a project I did a few years back. The timing was perfect as the two bikes from which I built the one were listed on craigslist at the...
