Re: where to find the right air cut off valves. or block the

That's strange, the 79 carb I was cleaning had a brass hole at eight o clock in all the carbs.

Just like in this pic http://smg.photobucket.com/user/joeducati/media/parts/2009-08-19102252.jpg.html

Re: Vibrating Mirrors

Weird. The cb's I've driven has no vibrating mirrors. Mine didn't shake with stock mirrors/handlebars and not with clip-ons/bar end mirrors. One of my friends attach a gopro camera to one of the mirror threads and the recording is very stable. Does it vibrate if you pull the clutch and roll at high ...

Re: where to find the right air cut off valves. or block the

I don't think the acc-pump has anything to do with the cutoff. The acc pump squirts fuel through the thin brass pole in all the carbs using the small aluminum tubes between the carbs, not just number 2. The pump itself just happens to be located on carb 2. The acc pump squirts fuel when accelerating...

Ebay.com has a bunch of them but there's quite a price tag on them. Siriusconinc.com usually have what I'm looking for http://www.siriusconinc.com/pro-detail.php?pid=&product_id=121061 I bought new ones for a carb rack that I did for a friend. Was thinking about blocking them but never got to it.

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

I wasn't happy with my muffler so I had to do something about it. It's originally a Marshall 4-1 system. The muffler is too long for my taste and I needed it to be a bit less restrictive. I cut the muffler to the desired length, an inch behind the rear axle bolt, made a removable baffle using a smal...

Re: Just bought my first Motorcycle

Nice find! I agree, the fairing is not the most slimmed version I've seen.
You might even get a few more miles per gallon if you remove it :D

Re: CB650 Parts?

I have bought a couple of jets, gaskets, and float needles from http://www.siriusconinc.com/.

Reasonable prices and in my case international shipping.

Hmm... I might have to look into moving my license plate. Cleans up the rear nicely.

It's amazing how good a bike can look just by removing parts and simplify stuff!
That rear section looked soooooo bad on the original picture.

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

Got some time left this weekend to put together the last pieces. Had some problems with a leaking master cylinder but it's all fixed now. The aftermarket (chineese) mastercylinder was not cutting it. It was made for a dual disk setup but was way to soft. Had to use the original MC and modify the new...

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

Assembly time!

Just got the tank parts together and I'm so scared that I'll scratch the paint.
Wet sanded the lock and cap in 3 stages to get them smooth then used a 3M pad to get the brushed look.

The emblem was horrible so I had to bead blast it and re-paint it.

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

Today I picked up my powdercoated frame.
It's primered (powder), base coated (powder) and then clearcoated (wet) on top.

I'm ready to start the assembly.
