Re: Cb650sc clutch switch
thanks volker, I don't want to be stuck looking for Neutral at a stop light or in a pinch... I've already trained myself to pull in the clutch when starting the bike anyway, so I should be okay to just ground the green/red wire.

Re: 1981 CB650C Fuel Tank or......???
I came across this problem with my '81 cb650c... couldn't find a decent '81 tank, so I settled for a decent '80 tank. you'll need a petcock that fits (the bung size is different), and then you'll need to macgyver the fuel line discrepancy. my fix: 5/16" outer diameter fuel injection hose. It fi...

Right Blinker works, Left... not so much
Before I start, I'm fairly confident the cause is poor grounding somewhere, but with the collective expertise, I'm hoping to narrow it down to specific places to check first. The RIGHT turn signal works. It flashes front and back, and the indicator light does the same. The LEFT however, front left s...

Re: Cb650sc clutch switch
I think he wants to eliminate the clutch switch altogether, amirite brynr? If so, did you figure it out? I am trying to do the same, as I purchased a new clutch perch without the clutch switch. I was reading on sohc4 forums that one should just ground the green/red wire to ground inside the bucket. ...

Re: Crab boots
I have heard that RTV sealant and properly placed bicycle inner tube can do the trick.... I can't really wrap my head around spending $150 (http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk) on boots for a $1000 bike.

Re: Installing new Speedo and Tach... help?
thanks nitro. this does help a bit. did you remove the old wires from the connector (plug that sits behind the headlight) or cut them and solder/heat wrap the new wires onto the old ones further up the harness? I'm planning on installing the tach as well, but out of curiosity, what did you do about ...

Installing new Speedo and Tach... help?
Hey all, I just got some new gauges from Dime City, and was hoping to get some help installing. Speedometer with indicator lights & Tachometer I have been searching for step by step instructions on how to wire them properly to no avail. I went as far as taking apart the dash on my bike today to ...

Re: looking for a good fuel tank - 81 CB650C
So I finally installed the new tank—which is in fact one year older than my original. It is in great shape, but still Evapo-rusted it for two days to be sure. A little flash rust occurred but seemed to stem that with a gasoline rinse. But to the real reason why I'm here: I have another possible solu...

Re: looking for a good fuel tank - 81 CB650C
You should be able to just put the tank on and go once you resolve the fuel line size difference. No modification required. The tank came in today, and it is in great shape. I am planning on taking some progressively finer sandpaper down to bare metal and coating it in POR-15 GLISTEN . Two or three...

tire wobble.... don't trust anybody.
Hey all, I was riding home from work today when I decided to look at my front tire, doing about 100km/h. I had noticed recently that at any speed over 30km/h my front end would bump and vibrate, as if going over uneven pavement. It is not a consistent vibration, but rather a fairly consistent wobble...

Re: looking for a good fuel tank - 81 CB650C
So I found an '80 tank in great condition, it is being shipped with the petcock. When it arrives, can anyone tell me what I should expect to install it on my '81 C? I know the fuel line is a different size, but will the new petcock simply fit my current setup with major modification? It's going to b...

Re: looking for a good fuel tank - 81 CB650C
That is good info, thank you cb650. Can you (or anyone) tell me what fuel tanks will fit without moving the mounting holes? There are a lot of 82 650 SC tanks out there, which I assume are not standards (also not a very desirable tank shape). So far, I know with proper petcocks, '80 650, '81 650, '8...

looking for a good fuel tank - 81 CB650C
Good day ladies and gentlemen,
I am having trouble finding a gas tank that will fit my '81 CB650C. Does anyone have any leads, or perhaps an 80 or 81tank laying around?
I live in Toronto, postal code M6J 2L7.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
