Re: Day trip....most mileage

I've done several. On several diff 650's. Always get 50 plus unless there is a problem. Have done a best of 65mpg but it was a slow dusty ride. usually 55/60 is average. Remember to check your speedo. If its off youll get hi/low averages. My current speedo is very fast so I get good numbers but its...

Re: '79 CB650 in Iron & Air Magazine

I like the swingarm/monoshock and the front-end swap. The seat and rear are too "minimalist" for my tastes, though. I'll bet it'd be fun to drive, though!

Do those carbs line up directly with the intake ports on the head or did you have to perform some shenanigans to get them to line up?

Re: Thats the way I'd like to Customized my bike. Any Sugest

As far as I can tell, the only thing changed is the seat/taillight/fender and bars. The custom seat would be the toughest part of the project.

Re: CB 750

Good-looking bike!

Do you think it'd be possible for you to get some measurements off the frame for me? Specifically I'm looking for the tank and sidecover mount points so I can see if it would be possible to mount that style tank/sidecovers on my '79 CB650.

Re: Cheap Replacement Regulator

I let the bike set for about a week due to unsafely bald tires  and when I went to start the bike yesterday the battery was completely drained.

Here is the upgraded diagram using the Dodge regulator in conjunction with a SPST relay.

Re: Care to tell me what this is?!?!

If you grab it I'd like to request tank mount measurements if you'd be so kind; I'd love to graft the tank and body paneling from a DOHC Supersport onto my 652. 8)

Re: Project Hobber - Bigg's Big Adventure

As Volker said, the filter cover "mod" may have made the bike run better. My '79 runs better with no filter cover (with bigger jets). Many people with CV carbs report that their bikes run better with a less-restrictive plenum and factory jetting. A little off-topic, but what kind of phone ...

I do need to get some pics/videos of the electrical mods I've done to my bike... I've told many people I would do it but haven't gotten around to it.

Re: Engine Rebuild

You'll probably break at least one head bolt so you may as well try to find a set. I've only rebuilt one CB650 motor so these guys will probably give you more help in that regard. But You'll probably need to do a lot of electrical work; judging by the corrosion on the engine, the connectors will be ...

Re: No More Oil Leak, Re-torque?

Over the winter I had planned to replace the head gasket and seals on the CB. Well, the best laid plans... Dropped the bike with a local shop along with all the parts I collected. Picked her up yesterday. No more oil leaks (so far). Picked up about 3MPH against RPM's in 4th gear. Before the repair ...
