Rc03 engine and Rc08 engine
I have found rc08 engine for sale (no carbs) from 1980. Can it be installed on my rc03 frame and carbs from 1979., or these carbs have different space between intakes?
I've tried search on the site, but it is not really clear (or I'm hoping too much).
Thanks

Re: Handlebar switches - right hand side
MEHall, have you tried taking out other screws, if that one is just spinning, I think you should be able to open it up?

Re: Handlebar switches - right hand side
I think I know which part you mean. It's a little tube with rough outside? It is supposed to be ledged in somewhere in plastic. That was one of the reasons my right hand switch fell apart.

Re: Handlebar switches - right hand side
Since these switches are almost new (had to resolder one wire), I did what you said tario and checked all the wires to see what they connect to. Everything works fine. So far it looks like all I'm going to lose is parking light, which is fine by me. I hope I'm not forgetting anything. When my pushpu...

Re: Handlebar switches - right hand side
I think so, this is I believe from Yamaha bike. I've seen generic one for sale, the main problem was (for me) that part for the dual throttle is missing. Also, many of them look really cheap. I was told that many jap bikes from that era used similar switches. I will see if I can find somebody to fit...

Re: Handlebar switches - right hand side
Ok, thanks for the reply. I have ordered throttle assembly http://www.kickstartershop.de/de/gas-dreh-griffe-gasgriff-cnc-schwarz and my friend has given me left hand side controls which seem to have everything in one place. I will see if I can connect everything to the left side or find someone to d...

Handlebar switches - right hand side
Hi, my switches housing is falling apart to the point that throttle cables are held by wire I have attached. All the plastic is almost in pieces.. Is there any substitute for original ones? What are my options? It doesn't have to look original, I just need it to function well and not to cost arm and...

Tacho problm
Hi, my tacho has stopped working, on the faceplate one of two screws has fallen inside the casing. I have opened it, and found the screw and what looks like a copper washer. I don't see any logical place for that washer, and when I put the tacho cable inside the cable slot and spin it, the needle is...

Re: Hard to start when hot
Hi, I have similar symptoms on my '79 Z model. Admittedly, I need to change gaskets on the engine, it's leaking a bit from everywhere :) Mine does not die on me when driving, but I need to keep an eye on it when I'm standing after a longer ride (highway tolls etc). It gets heated up while standing l...

Re: The easy way to get carbs back on.
For the boots: I have ordered them from the online store in Croatia, and I believe they are part of bigger network of shops. Anyway, I odered them for my friend so I don't know if they are orig from Honda or aftermarket since I just gave him the box. But I've paid around 75$ for four of them. I'll g...

Re: Non running 1979 CB650 carburetor problems (first bike)
Green guy to a green guy: you really need a torque wrench if you'll open the engine. Get yourself a workshop manual if you don't have one, it's in downloads section. Also check the tank when the bike comes, if there is any rust in it, you'll have to clean the carbs again. Post some photos for us and...

Re: 1979 CB650Z tacho cable
If you are in Europe, www.motomike.eu site, just enter '79 650 Z for the bike model and it will list all the available parts. So will cmsnl.com and others.
But I'm not sure you can find only wire part... Complete cable is not expensive.
