Its going on the dyno tomorrow for some fine tuning of the carbs. Handles altogether differently to my bandit...steadier pace, prefer the gearing. Its a bit more w...

Thats reasuring :) Carbs are fully in synch so I replaced the bearing this morning it was not difficult. There is still some noise but much less and whn I rotated the old bearing in my hand with a bit of pressure it was grinding so best out anyway. Cant wait to ride it :D

There is a rumbling noise that dissappears completely when the clutch is engaged. I expect that it is the clutch bearing and wantd to know ...

yeah...just checked haynes. After describing the fine tuning procedure it says, "The above sequence is not described by the manufacturers for the PD51A carburretors as fitted to the UK market cb650 models". Would love to spend the day with a fuelling/carb expert :)

I see your dilema. Sometimes all you need is a fresh pair of eyes and a logical/staged approach to repair. If you think about all problems at once then its just going to seem unmanagable. Where in the world are you? No one nearby to help?

It was starving on 1 1/2 Ibsen, for sure. The procedure described for finr tuning mixture...does it not state that its not appropriate for the UK cb650z?? Sure thats what I read. Might enquire about dyno testing once its MOTd. :)

All ready for MOT on the 150307. Bled the front brakes today as they were spongy...fluid like milk. Much better now. Might try and post a video clip of it running. My local bike store seems to be able to get genuine parts for it with ease and not expensive. Was going to by a generic pair of grips at...

Morning Volker_p...its the PD51A carbs. Would love to have it set up properly on a dyno. I'll get it through the MOT and depending upon driveability, might consider it. Used to work on Minis in my youth and always found money spent on dyno well spent even on low value cars. :D anyone had experience ...

Right...update time. good and bad really. Put the guages on and all 4 cylinders spot on. Still wouldnt idle below 1500-1800 sounded like it was lean and needed fuel. Revs hanging up an taking ages to return...also choke improving throttle response. Resorted to turning out the mixture screws out in 1...

Mine wouldnt idle below 15000 even after 10 mins running. Set the choke last night. started it on choke to 2500, adjusted the choke mechanism screww until it was just touching the cam of the choke assembly. Switched off and unnscrewed by 2 1/2 turns. Full choke now takes it to 45000rpm where as befo...
