Tach Display Loose

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any tips on how to open the tach housing so that I can tighten my loose tach display?

Somehow one of the two small screws came loose and now the display is all over the place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

Yes, That is what I was thinking also! Curious as to the flow, but Looks Very Clean! I'm not planning on doing it exactly like the pic as I think the angle at which the filter is tangent to the the ram tube would be a problem. I'd prefer it facing forward so the air is forced directly into it like ...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

nice looking pieces. Now to work, Is the airfilter inverted cone? Hi Usbear, I think it is... Definitely getting to work, want to make a vacuum molder this weekend. fiberglass is gonna take to long initially to get the desired shape. so I'll opt for vacuum forming abs first. Imagine the howl coming...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

Hi Guys I trust that you are all well. So I found something that I will be basing the air box design on and would like some opinions. I have also come across a pic of a rear hugger that I think would keep the engine free from unnecessary grime. Habe a look and please share you thoughts. Regards Rint...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

Hello Sir: Ryan I am not down on the pipes or pods but they make it more difficult to change anything from stock and without more work. So one thing we are playing with in the shop in spare time is an air box behind the carbs and in front of the frame to keep the area clean. I saw your work on the ...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

If you did ride at real load you are probably still a bit rich. Typically plugs are a bit white. Would the needle shim height influence the top end power curve if I changed the height? How would this affect riding at lower rpms? The needle position and needle contour have their largest impact in th...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

Maybe I should make the air box first and then tune accordingly... What are your thoughts or should I rather tune first and then do the air box. You should first get it running reliably on on all four. Then you know what you have before you run into new, self-made problems. Hi Volker, Sure t...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

[quote="usbear"]Well, I think you should ride so tune for now to ride, even if too rich at low speed. If you get midrange to top end close then you can go ride at least. Which is always my goal. 4o hp on two wheels that starts and runs iand rides is always more fun than 80hp sitting in the...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

CONDENSED VERSION: 1) turn idle air screws in until rpm drops then back 1/4 turn 2) go for a ride and check plugs in route. 3) check slow speed jet size and go down one size and check Or: put stock box back and sort it out THEN PODS You did a nice job on bike and seat, now tuning! Re: Reocurring carbs issues

Hello! Bob Here. I am back home and it is Saturday morning here at 8am Pull your bowls one more time, check your filter and then as follows. Pull your tank off after filling fuel bowls again. It will be easy to see coils and wires this way. Turn on valve until bowls are full then remove. Also did y...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

No need to spend money on carb sync tools. Visual synchronization is sufficient for all non-racing appplications. Just set the sliders in a way that they open simultaneously to the same, small gap when you turn in the manual idle knob. 110 mains might turn out still a bit lean but sound already lik...

Re: Reocurring carbs issues

Guys thanks a million. I'll be taking the carb rack off this weekend and cleaning everything including fuel tank and replacing in-line filter, as well as checking the rest in line with the troubleshooting you advised. Trust me I'm never sending my bike to that guy again. When received it back the la...
