Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

I'm loving this bike, especially the front end (handle bar controls, gage, headlight bucket).

I was wondering if you rewired the entire bike, or made modifications to the original wiring harness?

If you've rewired your bike, would you mind sharing your wiring diagram please.

Thank you.

Your bike looks awesome, definitely an inspiration. I really like that exhaust, did you make that yourself? Also, do you ride without the muffler?

Great job.

Re: help with Wiring

Sorry about that. I do have a 79 Im really hoping its my starter solenoid considering it had a wire as a fuse when I got my bike. The thing is, it still ran but now, nothing happens. Ive ordered a new one with a more modern fuse. I guess I would have to start my bike with the head light off to get m...

Re: The easy way to get carbs back on.

Great Idea! wish I would of thought of this. I struggled a lot with putting them on, I even came close to knocking down my bike because of all the force i was putting on to get these things on. I searched the internet and found a Youtube video of a guy boiling his boots before putting them on. I was...

I pushed mine in easily, there wasnt a problem. I did however tap it lightly with a hammer with a wooden block in between and That worked perfect but I was really careful.

Two throttle cables necessary ?

Hi Guys, I was working on my bike and I took off the throttle cables to to lube them up. As I completed my lubing task, I went ahead and started to put them back into place. Of course I started to put the main throttle cable on ( The cable the opens the throttle valves) first. I pulled the throttle ...

Re: clutch cable problems

Thanks Ford Man,

I think your right, my cable is really old and when i tuck it or move it around, it seems to get harder to pull.

I have clubman bars and still find the length of the cable too excessive. It seems to be getting in the way.

Thanks for all your help guys.
