Re: Rebuilding carbs - need parts
Somehow, magically, the thing runs much better now. Idles around 1500 RPM once slightly warm. Still not perfect, but I think it is good enough for now. I'm never going to touch the carbs again, I hate taking them off more than anything. I know my boots are in bad shape, and I'll need to replace them...

Re: Rebuilding carbs - need parts
Well, I got it all back together, but forgot the accelerator pump seal on the number 2 float bowl. Luckily, I was able to get it on by only removing the float bowl and not taking the entire set of carbs out. Now that I have no fuel leaks, I was able to start the bike. It runs poorly I'd say. Idle is...

Re: Rebuilding carbs - need parts
Thank you! That's exactly what I need. Still gotta order the diaphragms separate though.

Rebuilding carbs - need parts
I'm working on rebuilding my carbs, and it looks like I'm going to need to replace the float bowl gaskets and the air cutoff diaphragms. Has anyone found a good, cheap solution for these parts? I found the following options so far: ~$13 for some O-rings that you can bend the the right shape http://w...

Re: 17/39 sprockets vs 16/40
Thanks for the information. My bike is currently all stock. I think I'm just going to leave it the way it is now. I want to avoid putting more money into it for right now as I am not sure if I want to keep it for many more years or try to move to a sport bike. The driving I like to do is typically a...

17/39 sprockets vs 16/40
Hi guys, Been a while since I've been browsing here. But I've been working on my bike this past week and decided I wanted to change out the sprockets. I've read up on this a bit, but I just wanted some quick opinions before I order some parts. I'm looking to replace either just the front sprocket wi...

Re: 1980 all kinds of parts
I might be interested in the spark plug cables. Probably a better option to just buy some brand new ones for cheap though...
Currently tearing apart my bike and will probably find little things I am looking for. I'll make a new post when that happens.

Re: 1980 CB650C - My very first motorcycle
I didn't do any polishing on it. It was just a rattle can finish. The tank was sanded down to bare metal, primed, then painted. The side covers were just roughed up with some scotch-brite then painted. Looks worse in person =P

Re: 1980 CB650C - My very first motorcycle
Finally got around to painting the side covers. Also purchased a pair of chrome airbox covers from Witttom. What do you think? I can't decide if I love it or not yet with all the red.

I may be interested in the seat. Can you post a picture of it? Also where you would have to ship it from... I'm in Minnesota by the Twin Cities.

Do you have a price on a set of those? Or do you want me to email you to get the details?
