Re: Not another starter clutch thread!!!
I'd quit turning it over the second I hear that noise, the first Time I did a starter clutch on the 650 I only had to drop the pan and torque the bolts back up, It was easy but I ended up having the properly replace the rollers and springs a few months later. It is a easy job just be patient and wea...

Re: Another Noob to the site...
Hey Coop! nice work on the tank, I've recently been playing with 2 part clears in a can as you can get a really good finish out of it without cleaning the paint pot, I know you were on the verge of selling, glad you still have it.

To tell you what jets to run would be trouble, take a look inside your carbs check sizes and go up a size or two, while your at it give them a nice cleaning.

Re: Finally got a hold of a 1979!
Hey man, this is MY build thread! ;) Kidding. Looks like some motivation to me, I have to stash this away in the garage until after I finish my other 650, Starting this build will be my gift. As of now I'm thinking of keeping this post updated well when I start the build, I'm going to figure out the...

Finally got a hold of a 1979!
I've been waiting awhile for the Rc03 650s for awhile now, I finally found one a bit of a drive away. But here she is, only one owner has been sitting in a garage since 85. http://i798.photobucket.com/albums/yy268/prestonbig/unnamed%201.jpg http://i798.photobucket.com/albums/yy268/prestonbig/unnamed...

Re: Cam chain tensioner same through 79-81 right?
Figured it out, Tensioner was freyed enough from wrong install It wouldn't fit right, didn't think it was accually sort of key-ed in but I lightly tapped each side of the cam here. http://i798.photobucket.com/albums/yy268/prestonbig/tensioner-cam-cha_medium14500426010-01_9379.jpg And it clicked in.

Cam chain tensioner same through 79-81 right?
So why wont it fit? It's in its home (groove) but the bolts won't align right, the only way they will fit is if it's out of it's grove, wrongly installed hitting the crank.. I see why so many have problems with this because without moving the pan it seems correctly installed. I've never had this pro...

Re: Looking for Engine Removal tips
Theres a sub-frame on the bottom end on the drivers right side, In my opinion if you can strip the fragile parts off lay down some old blankets and get it on its side its the easiest on your back. Can't remember if its easier to go through the right or left side but I imagine going through the right...
