Re: Wiring and connectors behind headlight
DSC_6106a.jpg I am still struggling with this. The best I could do was stuff the white connector in to the extreme left, the black connector into the centre left, and the red connector into the centre right. One connector (wired to the right handle bar controls) didn't seem to fit and had a boot on...

Re: Wiring and connectors behind headlight
Thanks guys; I'll give it another try. I had a feeling that the plastic thing at the back was designed to hold the connectors.

Wiring and connectors behind headlight
I am reassembling a 1982 Honda CB 650 (that was taken apart by somebody else) and discovered that many of the connectors are located behind the headlight. Is there a specific location for the connectors or are they just stuffed in there anywhere? If someone could send me a photo with the headlight r...

Re: More Mystery Extra Parts
Thank you! I just found it. I had plugged the threaded hole with wood when I painted the frame and couldn't see it 'cause it is hard to see down there. Many thanks

Re: More Mystery Extra Parts
Well, it makes sense; but still haven't found it. I'll take another look tomorrow. Sure is crowded down there. Perhaps I should have put it in before the engine went in! If you can photograph what it bolts to it would help. Thanks so far.

Re: Easy way to remove and reinstall large springs
Fancy trick with the pennies! But I just use a wire or a cord loop and pull it into position. Then take away the loop.

More Mystery Extra Parts
I am re-assembling an '82 CB650 that my son took apart (and left me with the pieces. A part called "TANK, STORAGE" part no. 17551-460-670 is left over but I don't know what to bolt it to. Can someone tell me how to install it?

Re: Mystery extra parts
Thanks MiGhost, I suppose if I didn't it would eventually stall in rainy weather. I will make sure that the hose will be clean as I am doing with all the bits I am reassembling. Thanks again for the tip.

Re: Mystery extra parts
Many thanks MiGhost! I installed the battery drain hose some time ago and will attach the lower end to the pinch bolt bracket. I hadn't installed the air filter storage tank drain hose yet but will soon, thanks to your help. You guys are awesome. :D I'm trying to clean and install one part per day t...

Re: Mystery extra parts
The bike is an '82 Honda CB650. Yes, I cleaned out the tank; it had nine pin-hole leaks! Thanks for the tip regarding pinch bolts for the centre stand to hold the vent hoses from the tire. It makes sense but now I have to find the vent hoses! Perhaps they were chucked by the former owner. Sorry abou...

Mystery extra parts
My son took his bike apart and put all the parts in three cardboard boxes. When he couldn't get them back together again, I took over the project. I have two pieces left over which I couldn't find on the parts lists, diagrams, or instruction book. They are covered with road dust and grease indicatin...
