Re: I’m back

Thanks Larry.

Good to know. Was afraid I would have to start hunting for an air box.
Now to figure out a solution for the mismatched tank.

I’m back

Well I’ve been away from this forum for some time.. I sold my CB650C after my first season and moved up to a CB750C... which I promptly sold the next year, and bought a CB900C project bike. (Which unfortunately never made it back on the road. Just got a little overwhelmed with the project, and now b...

Re: Issue with Air box

The more I read it seem that while the Pods look good, they are more trouble than they are worth.. I think I will either try to mend the the airbox I have, or look for a used one on e-bay.
Thanks All.

Issue with Air box

I started the tear down for my winter project and discovered that there is an issue with my air box. The portion between the Air Filter housing and the carbs is starting to fall apart. The soft rubber flanges are starting to pull away (come unglued) from the harder plastic box. Can this be fixed? Or...

Re: About to start Winter Teardown

Here are some hints: http://www.hondacb650.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5788&start=4 BTW, no need to take the (73kg) engine out of the frame unless you have to split the crankcase. Excellent!! like the tip about the O-ring may try that.... As for pulling the motor, It all depends on what happens...

About to start Winter Teardown

Good Morning all. Well I'm about to embark on my winter project. My 80 CB650 Custom leaks oils and blows smoke from one cylinder. So I'm going to pull the engine and replace all the seals and gaskets. (found an aftermarket rebuild kit) And while it's out check the valves and rings. I did a quick che...

Re: My 1980 CB650 Custom

I was surprised tonight, I got several waves from guys (or gals) in the far lane of a 4 lane divided road. I've noticed that those who will wave, if they can't for one reason or another they will nod.

Re: My 1980 CB650 Custom

Absolute amazing feeling. This is my first ever Motorcycle, and I am in heaven whenever I'm on it. My only regret is that I should have done this decades ago... I have to say so far the best feeling was very first time I got a wave from a fellow rider as we passed each other. I was absolutely giddy....

Re: My 1980 CB650 Custom

I'm convinced. I will keep mods to a minimum and keep this bike as stock as possible. I've also had people come running across a parking lot to say how much they love my bike... I did after all buy a stock vintage bike for a reason. I do have to touch up the tank... a previous owner scratched it whi...

Re: Parting Out: 1982 Honda CB650 [Blue]

I THINK that I have a 4-into-2 set. I don't recall exactly what condition it is in. Parting out several CB650's here: http://www.hondacb650.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10246 Unable to check at the moment, because I'm currently on vacation. Won't be back in my workshop till the week of the 11th. Shi...

Re: Parting Out: 1982 Honda CB650 [Blue]

Hi Tom,
Did I see that the exhaust was a 4 into 2? Have they been sold? I might be interested in them for my 80 CB650 Custom.
