I'd say 43 is the OD and 3 is the thickness. You'd need calipers to get the ID. I just went to the honda dealer and ordered one. That was a year or two ago but I'd bet they still have it.

You do have the air box on the bike when you try to start it, right? The choke won't block enough air on its own. You could try blocking off the intakes with a sheet of something and just letting in a little air to get it to fire. The coils need to be hooked up a certain way too. If they are backwar...

Hmm, I think the head bolts should be in the same spot for every engine in a cb500, cb550, cb650. The bores are all different so head gaskets aren't really interchangeable and the castings don't all line up seamlessly. If you ride with spare plugs and a socket set it shouldn't ruin the bike. It just runs a little dirty. Going too lean can heat up and cause more problems from what I understand. Not sure on size off the top of my head. It would be specific to your exhaust though. 4 to 2 should be one size, 4 to 4 another. I think 4 to 4 is the largest one.

You can get yours rebuilt at a motor shop. Might just be the brushes. I suspect they are under the screws/plugs on the side.

I assume the floats are in the right way? It seems odd they won't even close like they did from the factory. They might be different heights but they should close on the bench when you are assembling them.

Around here I'd expect to pay $1000 to $2000 for the pair. This is assuming that there is a fully assembled running bike and a mostly assembled parts bike. I just blast the circlip with wd40 and let it sit for a while. Then if you have a sharp nail or pointy prying tool you can work each end a bit looser by prying it out of it's groove.
