Re: CB650 Spark Splug Problem PLZ HELP

If possible I'd take it for a ride, give the motor a chance to see what it'll run like under load for a distance rather than have it running at a stand still. See if a good run will burn off the fouling so to speak.

Re: CB650 Spark Splug Problem PLZ HELP

Please forgive this question: Is there not oil in with the advancer on the CB650? I ask this because it's been a long time since I actually WORKED on a CB650. I have much more experience with the DOHC Honda's of that same era (CB900C, CB750C, etc) and there IS oil in the on those models. The oil is...

Re: CB650 Spark Splug Problem PLZ HELP

How do I lube it? Do I just slather the whole thing with oil or grease? I been meaning to check my air gap in there but I dont have the brass feeler gauges but since it ran lean before Im guessing that wasn't it anyway. You have to take it apart, have a camera at hand to take pictures so you know h...

Re: CB650 Spark Splug Problem PLZ HELP

Hi, When you say fouling, what are the plugs being fouled with? Are you running stock air filter or pods? Ahh pods sorry just read your original post. Has it been rejeted ? Main jets etc? Rich Hi Rich, WT is using the standard airbox with a K&N filter, I'm presuming his jets are standard. WT, h...

I thought it was getting a bit busier TBH, there's been a few new members over the last couple of weeks.

Re: Smoke and Odor

Have you put a new air filter on it? You need to eliminate any air leaks at your airbox, airbox rubbers and inlet boots and fix your leaky exhaust before you try to set up your carbs properly. The choke may seem to pull and return but have you actually checked to see if the choke pulley has returned...

Re: Smoke and Odor

Hi JB and welcome to the forum and the World of Two Wheeled Nutjobs  How long was the bike stood for? Did you do anything to the engine other than have the carbs cleaned? Have you checked for a bit of freeplay in both of your throttle cables and your choke cable? doesn't need to be a lot. If yo...

Re: CB650 Spark Splug Problem PLZ HELP

Hi WT, can you put your mixture screws back to what they were before you did the extra 1/8 turn then take the bike for a run and check the plugs again?

Re: New to the forum

I had to turn my laptop upside down to see it properly  Surely that bike is way too nice to Cafe? But then that's just me, I love them in stock condition as CB650's aren't so common in the UK, especially not in such good condition :)

DT, did I read that correctly, you are losing your sight? If that is the case then I feel bad for you, you seem to have a positive attitude to your situation and you get my respect. I have some spare tires but you will have to collect them

Re: Throttle butterflies dont retract?

I'd say that plug looks lean but you have to account for differences with pc screens and lighting. Better to be slightly rich than too lean.
