Re: Spark plug wires
I'm also running the 7 mm Dyna Wires from Z1. Very happy with them and since I have Dyna Coils it's a better fit.

Re: Please Critique Me
Looks really good! Go slow and pull the bike out in the open so you can see it from a distance, that way you don't get distracted by the finish of the bike and can concentrate more on the lines.

Re: Pod Filter Alternative?
Nice progress! As for the bellmouth thing of the boots, I'm with you. When I run my carbs "naked" with no filter at all. It runs like crap. Jumpy idle. Bogging. Just plain weird. When I put on my velocity stacks, without any mesh screens, everyting is smooting out. Rock solid idle, VERY go...

Re: 81 Honda CB650 C Introduction
I know this is supposed to be an introduction topic, but while we're on the subject of the advancer--I noticed another side benefit today of getting it freed up. Before, my idle speed would be different at every stop light, anywhere from 1100-1500rpm. Now it settles right down to where it's suppose...

Here's a very short startup and rev clip.
The bike is going in for a full respray, that's why the tank and hump are different colors.
The mirror is temporary, new bar end mirrors are in the mail.

Re: Some new levers
I've seen a couple on ebay with a separate brake fluid reservoir and they do fit the cb650 but many of them are no good if you have dual calipers up front.

Yesterday I had some spare time and a flat surface needing attention.
The big hole at the starter will get a brass mesh and the lettering will be filled with brass paint.

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project
After taking a ride I noticed that my muffler hanger, an iron contraption that looks like a blacksmith hammered it out of a solid piece of steel was loose.
I cut out a piece of 5mm alu and drilled a few holes. A new custom piece that will never rust AND it weighs 1/4 of the stock one.

It's the stock cable that I shortened and resoldered. If you heat the end of the sleeve the endcap slides off and can be used again with a little glue.

Re: 1981 honda cb650 project bike
Looking great!! Just make sure you keep the bike somewhat leveled. I got carried away and lowered mine a bit in the front (1.5" through the triple trees) without doing the rear. The bike went from smooth ride to really scary! It started to wobble on a straight road when doing 90 km/h. Braking w...

I got bored of the tank lock but I feel it's a CB650 part that I don't want to scrap, and since I'm using the stock tank it's a keeper.
Did my best to make it less bulky.
I promised a picture of my choke and here it is.

That's a clever trick!
Unfortunately I replaced that spring a couple of months ago using the busted knuckles method

I have a one caliper setup
Ah, sorry can't help you then. My setup is the 3 hose one.
Ordered from Venhill. I got the stock length although I'm also using clip-ons. The new hose is so much easier to hide and doesn't look too long.
