Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project
Thanks again, for all your help guys. I starting to think that our carbs are not the same, judging by the slow jet on your carbs that can be screwed off and on. The slow jet on my 79 cb 650, is molded on the carb it self, so I am pretty sure i cannot take them off, or maybe there is a trick i dont ...

Thanks, I am going to pick one up. I doing my carbs now, and I managed to polish them with a steel brush pretty well. Yeah! i cant wait to see the video too. I was thinking of getting the same speedo, can I ask where you got your's from? I got mine from a swedish distributor. It's actually the only part on my bike that I have bought from here. I was going to buy it from dimecitycycles when I stumbled upon this loc...

Your bike looks really nice! How did you manage to fit the acewell speedo? Complicated job? Any video of the finished product/fonctionnality? Keep us posted :) The speedo is mounted in a predrilled headlight housing from Carpy . I had to glass the housing slightly to make the speedo fit nicely. I e...

Well with the red primer she looks like a baboon in heat.
Tomorrow I'll throw on some black paint and hopefully everything is back to normal.

Time to fit the new taillight. A bit of trimming and glassing required, then wet sanding...and wet sanding... The Mix n Match lights are all smd led and the outer part is an E-marked reflex that is required over here. This way I can scrap the rectangular reflex (that I don't have any space for anywa...

Velocity stacks installed and doesn't interfere with the choke!
I just added to my OCD-list that my whole engine will be brushed aluminum with brass details.
Couldn't resist taking it for a ride along the Swedish west coast for 3 hours.

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project
The outside diameter of my carb intakes are 47 mm.
I believe my pods are 45 mm in the opening and about 83 mm total length.
The rubber flange is quite flexible so mine fit the 47 mm intake just fine.

love the carbs! how did you get them so clean. They look completely brand new, seriously whats your secret? haha My carbs were totally gummed up. I have two set of carbs, one with stock setup and one jetted/modified for pod/stacks and open exhaust. I really wish there was a secret to it but unfortu...

Did you have to get new jets when you installed your pod filters?
Yes I had to put in bigger slow and main jets.
I mention the size in my build post which is reachable through my signature below.
