I know what part you are talking about. try asking on the SOH4 forum (website is escaping me and I'm at work, yes, late night in the office). Someone may have one from another SOHC they are willing to part with. Other than that maybe an old cycle junk yard if you can find one. I may go to one in Ohi...

The exhausts are in really good shape, almost no rust. One has a little rust on the rear baffle, but I treated it with a rust stopping solvent and painted over it with black paint. The sock  was on there from the previous owner to catch the leaking brake fluid. I have since replace the master ...

Yes, my '79 is is good to great shape, but yours seems like excellent shape. It's nice to know there are still some out there that look like that. I've wrestled with doing some modifications to mine, including painting it, but some how it seems like a sacrilege to paint over 27 year old stock paint ...

I would have preferred that shag glued to the seat. My ass is normally colder than the fuel in the tank. Very true. Perhaps on the grips for cold hands too. I just noticed the pod filters. Now I am confused. Increased air intake for more power to go faster, but the fuzz would increase the...

Yeah, I don't usually go for that sort of thing, but something about fatherhood has altered my brain a tad. It reminds me a what this old biker told me 15 years ago when I bought my first bike (Yamaha XS400), "If you ever throw your leg over that bike and feel indestructible, get off and throug...
