Re: Spare Change Project First Bike

Your bike has the VB44A carbs, so syncing them will not have an effect on how it handles under load. It will only smooth out your idle. If the bike is charging well, and has good compression, your problems under load are probably in the carburetor--something in there is still not clean enough. This ...

Re: My first CB650

Welcome, Stuart! What you have looks like a CB650Z model. I don't know a whole lot about those other than they were not available on my side of the pond (Hence, the reason I'm not familiar). Over here in the US, the 1983 CB650's were the SC models known as the Nighthawk. This was the year they began...

Re: My Cafe Racer

What size air filter pods did you get? Welcome to the forum! I can't answer the question about the pod size, but I can offer a word of caution: The carbs on his bike are PD51A carbs with mechanical slides, whereas your bike should have VB44A CV (vacuum slide) carbs. As the name suggests, the PB51A ...

Re: O ring

If you have a place like Fastenal where you're located, you can take one in and they'll help find the sizes you need.

Re: O ring

I know Sean uses Marco Rubber to buy them in bulk. If you contact them with the sizes you need, they can hook you up.

The 1979 CB650 should have PB51A carbs on it. The VB44 did not arrive until 1981. The VB44A's were used on the 1981 and 1982 CB650 and CB650C, and the VB44C's were used on the 1982 Nighthawk.

I've given up presuming anything to be "obvious."

Where does the solid black wire on your solenoid go?

Re: Go Kart wiring

There should be six wires--if you are counting the solid black the goes to the starter motor and solid red that goes to the battery.

He should have VB44A carbs--presuming his bike still has what it left the factory with.

Re: CB650 Spark Splug Problem PLZ HELP

I thought you had the slide carbs on your bike? Those are PD 50's--which are the slide carbs. if I do this trick wont it be misleading because once the gas empties from the bowl and the float opens the rest of leftover gas in the fuel tube will come down and change the result? I'm guessing by now y...

Re: Carb clean; accel pump

Impatiently waiting until 10am Tuesday when the dealer opens to find out if I can order one. Until then, looking up aftermarket alternatives just in case. They stopped making OEM ones a while ago. https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/16021-460-771?ref=56d0414e9b361a955671392cf42ac7ec5a2d4f72 Her...
