Re: 1980 CB650C "The Pocket Knife"
Pulled the motor last night. Looks really dirty under the left side sprocket cover. Any ideas what seal is causing this?

Re: Tach Cable problem….
Also, these spamming idiots posting garbage on this forum are out of control and need to be shutdown, I'm pretty sure anyone on a Honda CB650 forum isn't too interested in buying a knock off Louis Vitton handbag!

Tach Cable problem….
I cant seem to remove my tachometer cable from the little housing that bolts into the valve cover. I removed the small bolt, on the side and it feels like the cable is loose and can wiggle around, I just cant seem to pull it out. It feels like I'm going to break something. Any ideas?

Re: Front Brake Drags
When I took apart my caliper for cleaning, I noticed one of the glider bolts had a rubber sleeve on it. The rubber was pretty much destroyed, has anyone used the calipers slider bolts without the rubber sleeve? Is it necessary for re assembly?

Re: 81 CB650, Where will it go from here?
Good to know. I think I have made my decision now. After taking that center stand off I couldn't believe how big and heavy it was. I have a big pile of parts that are not going back on the bike when It all goes back together, it would be interesting to see how much all that stuff weighs. As for the ...

Re: 81 CB650, Where will it go from here?
Lucky getting the 4-1 header. I have the 4-4 exhaust and want to go 4-1, or 4-2 at least. I'm about to do the same tab removal and tail loop as you are with the frame, so make sure you post up pics when you get it back from the fab shop. I'm still thinking about taking off the center stand and remov...

Re: Newly aquired 1979 CB 650 project
Good job on the project. Just curious as to what elevation you are at, and what jetting set up you ended up with on the PD carbs with pod filters?

Re: 1980 CB650C "The Pocket Knife"
Got some more work done on the bike last night. Removed all the cables, gauges, forks, and steering stem. I also did some work on the carbs removing the float bowls, floats, main jets, slow press in jets, and air screw jets. When I removed the air jets I did not seem to find any little washers, ther...

1980 CB650C "The Pocket Knife"
So, finally had a chance to start doing some teardown on my 650 project today. Took off the exhaust, the headers and four mufflers alone feel like they weigh 60lbs haha. Took out the battery box, air box, and carb rack. Nothin too interesting here, just some typical teardown stuff. Sorry for the iph...

Re: My 81 650 C bratstyle
Thanks Ray, I actually found some of your posts on the ton. Im going to try to make a similar seat for my 1980. Thanks for posting up the pics Again. I also like the slammed forks, but I'm a bigger guy and the bike already feels on the small side. I might have some more questions down the road.

Re: My 81 650 C bratstyle
I Just picked up a 1980 650C that I want to brat. I am really liking how you did the seat on this. Just a few questions, did you use the stock seat base and just cut it down to be not so wide and bulky? If not, how did you make your seat base and how do you bolt it on to the frame? Thanks, and good ...
