Nice one Hamman, glad you sorted it :D

Hi ekos, try CMSNL but you should sit down first, not cheap.

Re: Carb rebuild kit for PD51A

Hi ekos and welcome. Where are you located? In the UK there are limited options for CB650 parts, David Silver or ebay. I bought some carb rebuild kits from ebay and I had to punch a new hole in the carb top gaskets, the o-rings didn't fit anything and I didn't trust any of the brass parts in the kit...

Re: My "new" 1980 CB650

Nice, hope you get it sorted. I've got to replace the cylinder head, cam and rocker box on mine due to a PO managing to get some crap in the cam bearing face, it has destroyed the cam and both bearing seats. I'm actually looking forward to doing it though :D

Love mine but the speedometer does not work and is kinda busted up. Having trouble finding compatible gauges online. Any help would be appreciated. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180129/b05e5c8e42d90018ccca9a9e24c353f4.jpg Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk Logan, if you haven't already gotten...

Re: Looking for 1980 tank decals

Hi Tom and welcome. Unfortunately I have only ever seen tank decals for the CB650Z and Nighthawk models on ebay but that is here in the UK, your model of 650 is very rare over here. What about using pinstripe tape?

Just a stab in the dark here but is your air filter blocked? Have you ever replaced it?

Re: Cylinders 3 and 4 are not firing.

Hi Tommy, you say that there is fuel in your carb bowls but is the fuel getting through to the combustion chamber? After trying to start the bike have you removed the plugs from 3 and 4 to see if they are wet with fuel? If there is no fuel on them I would suspect either blocked jets or fuel rail.

Re: Header on Cylinder 1 is not getting hot like others!

Hi Raiken and welcome. You don't mention doing anything to the wiring harness on this bike, I have found in the past that a lot of problems can be solved by starting with what you already have, but seem to be neglected when it comes to a refurbishment of a nearly 40 year old bike. Most people assume...

Hi Maldenite and thanks for your update, it is always good to hear of a problem solved. I must confess to not seeing your excellent and informative posts myself until today but I'm glad that you are almost ready for the road.

Re: Flasher are not flashing

So you are using "aftermarket" flashers? Somebody else recently had a problem with aftermarket flashers that would not flash. The solution was to change the bulbs in the aftermarket flashers for the original Honda bulbs, the bulbs in the aftermarket flashers were the wrong wattage or whate...

Re: My CB650SC Nighthawks

Great looking Nighthawk one man, nice! The other project looks neat as well. Thanks Efferdy :D In the UK SOHC Nighthawks are really thin on the ground so finding parts isn't easy, the bikes seem fairly common in the US but the shipping and import duty is usually way more than the cost of the part t...

Could you be a bit more specific, are you using original Honda parts? is it all of your flasher lights or just the front or the rear? Pictures might help.

That explains the difference in terminology, in the UK a fuel tap is very rarely called a petcock
