Re: Which cylinder head bolts get the washers?
all the head bolts get a washer Thanks Head bolt stripping at 10 lbs/sf? https://imgur.com/a/iFO3G1v This is a situation I've been in many a time. How do you know when you're stripping threads torqing bolts? Book calls for 17-22 lb/sf and it has stayed at about 10 for a bit too long for my comfort....

Right, it is the 22 head cover bolts where only selected bolts get copper washers.

Re: Having an issue seating the cylinder block.
I also thought of cutting a thread and pull it out but I did not want to propose that because of the filings. Because I am not sure if you get them out with the engine in the frame. These (calibrated) nozzles are really important for the oil supply of the head and camshaft bearings! If one of them ...

Mission completed https://imgur.com/a/7Q81sYW Thanks. Heat, lube, tenacity and CARE & PATIENCE (for future REFERENCE I'm finding does many the job. Had to use a oversized tap. Did min damage inside. Outside scores sanded. Valves still function where they need to. Everything fits. Def got some de...

In fact the CB650 is no known for easy and immediate cold starts even if everything is fine. Cranking a lot may work but this is not that nice. Maybe you get a bit happier with this proven CB650 cold start procedure . Awesome response! Thanks. I just read the initial post and got good nuggets right...

Re: Having an issue seating the cylinder block.
Hi JJ, carefully heat the alloy casing with a blow lamp, then they should twist out a lot easier. Try to keep the flame on the alloy, it will expand faster than the steel oil valves. Don't heat it so much that you melt the damn thing! Duh! I knew there was a good idea out there beyond my simp...

Re: Having an issue seating the cylinder block.
if mine bought apart I would remove them any way possible and get new. Sounds like a PO fucd something up No I figured it out. The "PO" was me putting these "oil control valves" in upside down. http://partstream.arinet.com/Mobile/UT9QOkNB9cTAfbSJvd9VecST4zy8a0T2hjnStblpb433l6aSs...

9mm ID/10mm OD https://imgur.com/a/zuCEeBA If I'd been the one who took it apart it I'd know if these oil dowel pins are original. I'm going to imagine so and that in fact I'm supposed to press them in by tightening down the whole thing but I don't know for sure. Maybe I have them upside down? If I ...

What would cause this problem I've had starting my bike?
Once fired up it (was) doing fine. This was a few months back first half of the summer before a mechanic messed things up(if anyone remembers). I'm in the process of putting it back together and before doing so I just want to make sure I check all needed checked before I bolt it all up. It just felt...

Re: Can you swap a 96' CB750 motor in an 82' cb650sc
Mechanic went back into bike to tighten engine block bolts to stop a leak. If you want to have a tight engine, you have to clean surfaces carefully before reinstall and follow the stepwise torque schemes with a small enough torque bolt. Try tightening bolts at a CB650 head cover or head to stop a l...

Can you swap a 96' CB750 motor in an 82' cb650sc
Mechanic went back into bike to tighten engine block bolts to stop a leak, then suddenly the engine is knocking. They're telling me that that is how it sometimes happens. Idk. They were screwing me from the get go and at this point I can't tell fact from fiction. Anyway, they're offering to replace ...
