Sorry, I meant 650 in title. I figured if I swapped the cb550 points plate with the pulse plate in the 650, I could have basic ignition

I have some US ones,I think they also are rated in kph

can I remove the electronic ignition from a 650 and replace it with an ignition from a cb550.Get rid of the faulty spark boxes that always burn up and go for a simpler ignition?In turn go with a simpler wiring schemetic like this

did you use stock wiring harness and ignition?

I might not go with a tach on my chop,if I can run the engine without it,I will sell you mine for a few bucks

ok,thank you,and just so we are on the same page,the needle I am taking out is the one above the float,correct,kind of square like.Also I am to take a q tip and clean the jet that the square looking needle goes into,correct.

I am trying to rebuild the carbs on 1980 cb650,the first and second carbs keep draining out of the bottom drain in the float bowl,can someone please tell me what to do.Float height is 1/2" according to the book
