I like it like it is. There is a couple little things I'd like to add but nothin big.

I had one that was too thick and wouldnt let the retainer ring line up. Took it over to the lath and even though it is hardened a carbide tool took enough off to let it work.

Engine is junk but other good parts.

When my dad had his little plane in the winter before flying we would take a electric heater with a stove pipe on it to warm the engine.

You will need the triple clamps also. They were wider for the dual disks. Then you can put in tappered steering bearings. Also the 82 (+newer?) calipers were 2 piston but would need the disks to go with them.

I havent done the air assit but for 220 would learn real fast.

In USA in 82 you got either the standard same as the 81 and 80 except for the cards head thing. Or the the night hawk sc that replaced the custom. Same motor but black and they starte to change various items. 83 went to the dual cam shaft drive six speed that was totally diff. I undestand the single...

Here the 79 had the OHC650 covers and in 80 they went plain. Both had slider carbs. Have to look at the fins. Both of my 81s have the 79 covers.

I would think someone (Rob?) put slipon pipes as they should be 4-4 on the custom. Also the paint one the custom I thought was always a 2 tone.
These bike are getting old and who knows what changing past owners have done.
I seen one with a drum front brake once.

I used to do it with the wrench but know use the starter. Dont think I would do it running.

I think I payed 12 or so bucks a set but that was 10 yrs ago. Havent needed any more.

You didnt get any of the crap down in it did you? Might be worth a rebuild. Your calipers might need a tention too.

That is a big diffrance. I'm trying to investigate putting a hipo 550 cam in instead of going through the expence of having a 650 cam reground. On place had a 550 cam with the same lift as the 650 another has about 1 mm more. Wonder what it would gain in hp? Dont want anything radical just little mo...
