Re: Not sure if this is a carb or engine issue

Nothing really significant. Yes cold engine carbs are in no condition to run gas through right now. I kept thinking I should ...

Re: Not sure if this is a carb or engine issue
What would one want to see in terms of compression? I was checking out my bike today with my friend who brought over his compression tester he uses with his car, and with the adapter it seemed to fit right in to the plug on my bike. Each time I turned the engine fro the left side (stator side) I was...

Yeah it is all in rough shape with the carb, I might no be able to get away with a quick clean up. probably going to have to get the soak bucket and put it to use.

Re: '79 cb650
Here is what the carbs look like. Thought I had a pic of the float bowls but they just looked like they had the residue from dried up gas, pulled one of the jets and it looked good no gunk or clogged ports.

I have a windjammer fairing I got with my bike when I picked it up and I will not be using it. If anyone is interested I can post pics. I have the matching trunk that can come with it. Let me know if you are interested.

Dumb question, but that number plate did you just cut it out of some sheet tin? How did it mount up? It looks great!

Re: Honduki
That looks awesome! I have no idea about the soundness of the frame and all that but I like the retro fitting of the new on the old. I was thinking of trying to find a dual shock swing arm set up so I could get the disc break and a 17" wheel without having to deal with spokes.

Re: Different size rear wheel?
Sooo is there any easy way to get 17" wheels on the bike even if it from a different model bike like a 250 ninja or something like that? I know it would not look great with the ninja wheels but it would be easier and cost less than all these other suggestions.
