Pilot Screw O Rings
While cleaning my carbs, I've found that two of the pilot screw O rings were too mangled to even temporarily re-use. What are the consequences of not having these O rings in place?

Re: Resurrecting my baby from her deep sleep, Folsoml's bike
It's ALIVE!!! It could be a number of small details giving me trouble. I took the carbs back apart and really, REALLY, cleaned them. I soaked the bodies and all the little parts in mineral spirits over night. I put them back together following as closely as I could along with this article (suggested...

Re: Resurrecting my baby from her deep sleep, Folsoml's bike
There was fuel in the carb bowls when I took it apart yesterday and re-cleaned it. Maybe I am looking at this backwards. I wanted to see if it would run at all before I put all the work into rebuilding the engine. The engine sounds great for the brief few seconds it will run. That's why I'm so bumme...

Re: Resurrecting my baby from her deep sleep, Folsoml's bike
I bypassed the auto shut off and got the same results. I took the carbs back off, re-cleaned everything, and put them back on. I got the same results. I am losing the little bit of hope I had. I posted two pictures on the "Where do these carb tubes go" thread in hopes that someone will see...

Can someone please verify that that these tubes are going where they need to go? I am at my wit's end.

Good and sharp picture! :) Guess you could like this now: http://www.hondacb650.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5056  Great resource! Thanks! The leak was coming from around the float bowl gasket. I took it off, cleaned around it better and put it back on with a little petroleum jelly to help it ...

Re: Resurrecting my baby from her deep sleep, Folsoml's bike
CARB SETBACK: I had a rough day yesterday. I made my T vent and got it installed. I started to put the carbs on the bike and found that one of the throttle cable hook-up thingies was broken off! (Many of you may not be familiar with the highly-technical jargon I use. "Throttle cable hook-up thi...

Re: Is there any saving this fuel tank?
My father would (seriously) solve your problem the follwing way: first clean it, then chuck it away! The JB Weld dried and I added a quantity of mineral spirits. I found several pin holes that I missed. It looks like I'm going to do a version of your father's advice. I'm going to coat it in J...

Re: Carb inlet replacemnt "T's" source??
OK, so this is only a vent. That's good. I'm not yet to the point of assembling/installing the carb to know what it did, I only know mine was broken.
I made version of what you did, and it is set up drying right now.

Re: Resurrecting my baby from her deep sleep, Folsoml's bike
You may be a genius. I tore the front end completely down to just wires. I cleaned every contact on connection on every wire on the bike--including the kill switch! I must say that the mud dauber nest that were inside this switch were some of the smaller ones I've found on this bike, but they were p...
