starter Problems

Hi guys, So I have been working on my 79 for months now, since April to be exact. I started off slow and didn't really have a game plan, and basically took everything off and cleaned the carbs. To make a long story short, I put everything back together except the gas tank, and I even bought a new ba...

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

Thanks, I feel more confident now. I would hate to have to take apart my carbs apart again since it took me forever to clean and put them back together although I think I could do it a lot faster now since I made my mistakes the first time. I just had a few quick question if you dont mind helping me...

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

reading earlier into this thread, I realized i was going to have a hard time tuning my carbs with the stock jets and air pods. I actually got my new jets on my carbs and now i am just assembling the carbs together and it should be ready to go. I hope things go smooth. PS The slow jets were a lot eas...

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

So you mean to tell me your slow jets (42), are just wedged in there, with not bondage adhesive what so ever?

I have a history of screwing up, you think its a hard job and not recommended for a guy like me that is new to all this?

Thanks

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

Thanks again, for all your help guys. I starting to think that our carbs are not the same, judging by the slow jet on your carbs that can be screwed off and on. The slow jet on my 79 cb 650, is molded on the carb it self, so I am pretty sure i cannot take them off, or maybe there is a trick i dont k...

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

Ok, after a lot of searching, I cant seem to find them online for the year my bike was made in. I have a 1979 honda cb650. You think it would work with my carbs? they seem to look identical to your from the outside. Could someone also point me to where i can purchase these jets? Thanks for your help...

Re: 1980 CB650z RC03 Café Racer (ish) project

Thanks again. You save me so much time.

Well i guess I have to get the washers, and the o'rings. While I am at it, I might as well get new jets since i have the air filters now. I think I've asked you this before, but what size are your jets that you use with the air pods?

Thanks
