Re: Cant get valve cover back on.

well I loosened all the adjusting nuts and it still doesn't sit flush across the cylinder head. Either the left or right side will be able to mate the surface at some point as I turn the crank shaft but never together. Any ideas? Is this resistance from the springs that's normal and I just need to t...

Re: Cant get valve cover back on.

20180124_140827.jpg I'd rather use this method of displaying pics (if it actually displays) but isn't there a limit? if so then I'd link to file hosting site but using [img] it never displays. anyway, what am I looking at? alternator? is that healthy. looks a bit brown /orange. please tell me it's ...

Re: Cant get valve cover back on.

Turn it anti clockwise in relation to the picture, the direction that the engine rotates in. I would give that alternator a good blast of electrical contact cleaner and let it drip off, then give it another and let it drip off again, then do it a third time and while it is still wet blow any crap d...

Re: Cant get valve cover back on.

juntjoo, do not turn it by the nut on the right side (ignition) of the crank as you sit on the bike, that one is more or less a dummy nut on a very thin shaft. Turn it by the nut on the left (alternator side). thanks. 20180124_140827.jpg I'd rather use this method of displaying pics (if it actually...

Re: Cant get valve cover back on.

The only thing that I can suggest is to keep gently trying it and if possible shine a torch through the gap to see if anything obvious is in the way. Are the locating dowels perfectly round? can you turn them upside down in the head? just wondering if one of these isn't lined up properly. "loc...

Cant get valve cover back on.

the right side sits over the head about a millimeter. towards the left it tapers down to make correct contact. All I did was unbolt it then lift it a bit out of the way(long story) then went to put it back and now this. It wasn't difficult to remove though. I took the speedometer or odometer or tach...

Re: brake kit oil seals are a bit too big. are they supposed to be?

"Yes - I know this caliper and it was made by Tokico which copied the Nissin for Honda. It's quite rare and causes the confusion. I hope the bleed nipple is good and save this as it is important (It has a 7mm thread with 1mm pitch but the usual Tokico bleeds feel loose on the caliper thread)......

Re: brake kit oil seals are a bit too big. are they supposed to be?

so these seals dont shrink over time and I just need to find a way to squeeze them in? I highly doubt that but I still wonder. I wasn't able to push them in the first time I posted a pic but perhaps they gotta be forced in? nah...

Did the one you bought have a part number? OEM ones are still available from Honda. https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/45209-460-841?ref=a5220d98b468f5311db137343351800ed97ddbb5 Edit: I see now that you had your Ebay profile set wrong, and got regular CB650 seals. thanks. my pistons are 26mm a...

Re: help needed with testing accelerator pump

In my opinion it seems to work properly and as someone said it only need a small squirt. So long there is fuel coming out it will work i think. seems? this is where I am https://youtu.be/oca15-dnBnE I hope you're right but everywhere I looked about this indicated these pumps need to w...

Re: help needed with testing accelerator pump

so I decided to volunteer/sacrifice my extra cover to r&d drilled out the plug to uncover the mystery beneath and I'll be danged: https://imgur.com/a/UAIeR I can actually save this if I didn't destroy my other cover if I can somehow furnish another metal plug somehow. I suppose I could sand a pi...

Re: help needed with testing accelerator pump

i wonder if i could drill a tiny hole at any of the sides of the square plug just so I can make space to push a pick through to free up this alleged ball. I'm starting to get suspicious there's some malicious little creature in there playing tricks on me rather than a rusty bb. I mean, I have yet to...
