Re: 1979 CB650 Headlight
I do not know if this applies here, but in theory it should. How about running a "relay setup"? where the headlight main power is fed directly from the battery, and only triggered by the normal key on or Hi switch? I haven't dug far enough into a CB harness to see how the power is fed, but...

Re: Issue with Air box
Velocity Stacks, either like the rubber ones in the stock airbox, or aftermarket stacks are a big help in making the air less turbulent, and stacks also help increase velocity as well. Yes Mehall the way i understand it, is that turbulent air is something these hondas dont like, and can cause tuning...

Re: Need carbs for 1980 or 1981 CB650
wrong years. 79/80 are mechanical 81/82 are cv's. Head changed. Some one did get them to interchange using different intakes. Old thread. And how to use kawi carbs too in it. That said being 30 plus years engines could have been changed by a PO. I so wish we could get some of the 750 love to rub of...

Re: Frames???

Or could i use a Triumph frame and how much work would that take? Or wich any else frame could be used to fit the CB 650 engine in? Preferab...

Re: Frames???
Well i do know what hardtail is though. It looks like the engine from a CB650 wont fit in that frame though. But if i wanted to do a hardtail what frame could i use where the CB650 engine have space enough to fit? And must i use a welder to weld some engine mounts? Or is there a way to mod e...

Re: Frames???
"What exactly are u looking for? if u wanna hardtail...", excuse me but what does that mean? Not sure what you meant by using letters for words, but a Hardtail is generally a chopper style frame that is void of rear suspension, besides a seat with springs. (Very popular american style of ...

Re: Frames???
What exactly are u looking for? if u wanna hardtail ur 650, Voodoo Vintage out of Austin, TX makes a kit specific to the 650, and there are many universal hardtail kits. Also if u can find one, a company called Amen used to make chopper frames, like the savior, that were made specifically for 750's ...

Re: Boyer Ignition on my 1980 cb650
If i am not mistaken it is an upgrade to electronic ignition right? well u are ahead of the game since the 650's already have an electronic ignition, and not a points system like earlier 750's etc.
What symptoms are u having, that make u call it troublesome?

Re: 82 Nighthawk rear shock length and lowering/raising
I seen u mentioned Eye to eye, verify that they have the correct mounting system, with the clevis like u mentioned and not the eye to eye or they wont work. I bought these http://www.dimecitycycles.com/11-38-inch-black-shorty-eye-to-clevis-rear-motorcycle-shock-absorbers.html for my 79 650, if these...

Re: Starter/electrical problems.
I would compare that picture that u posted, with any mods u made on your harness and start there, for me i try to do electrical methodically, start at one end, check all connections then move on to the next. Is it possible u have one of the green wires in the headlight part of the harness connected ...

Masika, i read on the SOHC4 forums that a guy running a 650 eliminated the igniters all together, not sure how he did it, i will try and find the thread and link it if i can
