Mac 4:1 exhaust

bit of an update - My Mac 4:1 exhaust arrived and I was able to fit it today, WOW what a difference it makes! apart from it being a bit quieter than my home grown 4:1, starting is easier (like first button push from cold) she revs better and is more responsive. so I guess these old Honda's need a bi...

Re: lost all power while cranking over.

when you say you lost all power is this the power to crank, or is everything else dead (horn, lights etc.) assuming you have power to other circuits, check the starter solenoid by momentarily bridging the solenoid connections with thick copper wide. If it cranks it would indicate an issue with the s...

Re: 1981 CB650 #1 Cylinder not firing

1 - Unlikely to be ignition timing as the ignition for cylinders 1 and 4 are on the same circuit (pickup, coil wiring etc.) the only unique ignition components to cylinder 1 are the plug and HT (thick) lead and cap. So to discount the ignition as the issue just replace the Plug, HT lead and HT cap. ...

Re: CB750 Exhaust fitting

yes your right, I've bitten the bullet and gone for a 4:1 MAC for $278 (+$100 shipping to the UK) I did find a nice Italian made 4:1 system from MARVING which is about the same price but they only do it in Chrome (and I need it in black). I could have had it coated for an additional £300 ! but not w...

Re: Omg! This bike is killing me!

Re: Omg! This bike is killing me!

I built a custom loom for my CB650 Bobber so know your pain! there are two parts of the charging circuit for you to check to make it work. the plug in the picture is from the rest of the electrics to the rectifier, the other plug (bigger one) from the rectifier goes to the Generator. The plug in the...

CB750 Exhaust fitting

Need to find another 4:1 exhaust, as we know very rare second hand for the 650, Has anyone tried an early CB750 (K7 etc.)? I know the heads (or at least the Unlet) spacing is the same.

thoughts on this?

cheers

Re: Airbox and filter question

no re-jetting is required, all I had to do was raise the needle one groove. The most important this is the velocity stacks (one of the problem with pod filters). I found that the mild steel ones from a Rover V8 are perfect (when cut down) and only cost £25 on ebay http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums...
