Re: should I invest in one of these carb sync tools?

This is the one I bought, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARBTUNE-PRO-4-COLUMN-CARBURETOR-SYNCHRONIZER-BALANCER-W-TOOL-POUCH/222463312429?hash=item33cbd8c22d:g:s90AAOSwED5Z0-zY I have never had much luck with the dial gauge type as the needles are far too jittery to be of much use accuracy wise, even th...

Re: should I invest in one of these carb sync tools?

Hi juntoo, what type of sync tool is it? can you provide a link? A bench sync can be good enough to get you in the ball park but you may need a sync tool to get the carbs as close as possible. I bench sync'd my slide carbs on my 650 Custom and the bike ran reasonably well, it wasn't until I used my ...

Re: No spark or power

As Folsoml said, something is obviously not connected up right. If you had connected everything correctly then this wouldn't be happening. The only thing that I have experienced that is even remotely similar to what you describe is when my starter button was stuck with grease and grime and when I tu...

Re: Distorted Carb Inlet and Metal Choke Replacement

Hi Folsoml, yes I have checked the carbs for size, they are identical apart from the air cut offs. I've read about blanking the little buggers off but seeing as I picked this rack up for peanuts I'm going to refurb them and see if there is any difference to the running. It's more sort of an experime...

Re: Distorted Carb Inlet and Metal Choke Replacement

Thanks MEHall, if it isn't that important I was figuring to fill the dented section with epoxy putty and file it to shape for the airbox rubber to seal to.

Re: Where to get raised white letter tires?

Hi papa, you are welcome mate but that is all I could come up with. I presume that you are in the U.S.? I don't think that tyres with RWL are, or ever have been in demand in the UK as I don't ever recall seeing any on sale over here.

Re: Engine advise please

Hi Riche and thanks, I'm happy that I could help :D I haven't fixed (or broken) anything in quite a while as I've been sorting out a shed to work in, I'm getting too old for kneeling on concrete :( I was going over your thread the other day as I've bought a CB650Z engine, carbs, frame and forks that...

Seems like the easy solution to me, these are listed in the UK so they must be available in the US.
