Re: Can't get voltage through relay for heated grips. Help?

JJ, the CB650 has a well known crap charging system so why the hell would would you want to complicate things any further? Buy thicker gloves! It's just for a few weeks out of the year. What can I say, I like my gadgets. And my skinny boney fingers are the coldest part of me while riding. Anyway, I...

Can't get voltage through relay for heated grips. Help?

No voltage to relay https://imgur.com/a/RgYZHgN Anyone have any idea why I can get resistance across the relay testing with the ignition but not voltage? Confirmed grips work connected directly. Confirmed voltage to the point(brown wore to rear lights) with ignition switch closed So relay works but ...

Re: Carbs leaking from the rear after removing air box

Okay, I removed the filters, tested it out for about a minute (trying to go to bed) and with a little cold it didn't die and didn't appear to leak from the rear so I'm guessing the filters were too restrictive. Better made for coffee :p. And I don't k ow how air works to have prevented them from lea...

Carbs leaking from the rear after removing air box

https://youtu.be/No1nrybJSSM Just removed the air box and did a preliminary pod filter test with coffee filters with rubber bands as I haven't even ordered pod filters yet. I know coffee filters are not the same but should this be happening? I have simply left the vent tubes from the carbs and the c...

Did you do anything to support the carbs? They used to use the air box to keep them from hanging down stressing the boots to the engine.

Re: Air filter-1982 nighthawk 650. Air box or no air box

The other at the drag strip for 12 years and it was still good when I stopped racing. No i didnt just show up i placed in points 2 years and had to file taxes one time so m...

Thanks. Good to know. Found some K&N ones, the two on two set for $50 barely used. Might take them if I can verify they fit okay. Uni's aren't that cheap. Like $15 a piece

Re: Air filter-1982 nighthawk 650. Air box or no air box

81 650 That wasn't you that I recently read in these forums that had a lot of luck with pod filters on several bikes? I think it was two Hondas, one with 1ltr engine, your 650 and maybe another make? The 81 has the same engine and carbs as mine. You wouldn't advise? I'm at sea level in SWFL if it m...

Re: Air filter pods

I'm not sure what pod filters your using bit I use Uni pod filters and I have no need to reject. I use the uni stage 2 filter. The problem with open air flow pods like velocity stacks is the need for reject and retuning these uni basically mimic the air flow the original airbox has. I've used these...

With the cv I learned to make the vent tubes short and cap them with a filter.

Short? As in just enough to reach them from outside(as they're connected inside/in between the carbs)? And how do you cap them with a filter? Is this a makeshift mod or are there parts for this? Thanks

Re: Air filter-1982 nighthawk 650. Air box or no air box

yes I tried and failed. Bike failed for 10k till the oil pump gave out on a long ride. Which bike and carbs? I've got the cb650sc with CV carbs and really contemplating getting pods. My air box is out and I dread the idea of putting it back in and all this extra space looks sweet. Would make a good...

How to get fuse box off?

Current fuse box https://imgur.com/a/hMvYvxz How do you get this off? I've unscrewed all screws except for the two at the base which have no room to reach. You can see the one on the right of the pic. While in here is there a better setup for this? An upgrade to consider? I'd actually like to use th...

Re: How would you remove this heated grip?

And I got some $20(good reviews) alpha moto pod filters for ease of getting the carbs on/off. Not gonna go through that hassle anymore. If they don't work out, $20 experiment

Re: How would you remove this heated grip?

Once my new(used one) arrives, what's the trick to getting the pull cable back in with no one to help? I'm guessing I gotta find a way to release the cable from the carbs to give it slack to attach to the tube right? Open to tips
