Re: Stator issues/replacement

Thanks George. I watched and read elsewhere about using the rear axle, but didn't really want to remove and replace all that. I'm going to try to borrow a better puller from my dad (owns a shop) today. If that doesn't work out, I may have to breakdown and pull the rear axle. Wish I could figure out...

Re: Ignition switch wiring

It looks like it is part of the lighting circuit to me as it spurs off towards the rear light.

Re: New housing for speedo/tach?

Hello Michael, I've never had a reason to take one apart but there seems to be no shortage of secondhand items on ebay with varying prices and condition.

Re: how on earth are you supposed access #3 sync screw??

Unfortunately I can't be much help in this case as the top end is off my Nighthawk and my Custom has slide carbs. All I can do (when I get time to get in the shed) is prop my carbs up on my engine, roughly in the correct position and see how bad the access is :?

Re: why would pipes #1 & 3 be cool?

Thank you guys for finding really nice words for me, sounds a bit like an obituary. Fortunately too early but thanks anyway. :D So I just like to say that I am all right and there is no reason to worry. I am completely off the motorcycle stuff since that crash and I do not look in here frequently a...

Hi Rich, not sure about thread size but this may help, this is the blanking screw, brass part is from a Morgan Carbtune, second pic is of it fitted to the carb.

Re: how's my spark?

jj, you would need one for the 12mm plug if you decide you want to buy one. They are not an essential tool, you can play about with your mixture screws to get the same results. They are what I would describe as a lazy tool

Re: CB650C clutch cover leak

Also, those little gasket rubbers on top of the engine, they are cracked and need replaced....I have no idea what they are called. There are several of them, looks to be two different styles for the same function based on where they are located, if memory serves (the bike is not in front of me righ...

Re: CB650C clutch cover leak

Secondly, has those gaskets for the rubber rings on the top of the heads gotten any more available of late? Last I checked, they were pretty rare, and I really got tired of the 650 peeing a little oil on my left leg every time we went out. My leathers started to get fouled! Ideas?? :? Do you mean t...

Re: CB650C clutch cover leak

Hi bubba, https://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CB-550-650-CLUTCH-COVER-GASKET-79-82-SOHC-11394-426-306-650-1-/122123250801 and welcome back. This one seems to be a bit thicker than your average pattern gasket. Pay no attention if a high postage price appears in any link I provide from ebay, I'm in the UK ...

Re: how's my spark?

All i can say is even if the spark looks good outside the engine it can actually be no spark when phe plug is mounted. Seems to me the best solution for you is actually find someone that is a bike mechanic to look over your bike. Or he could use one of these, but I don't think that is anythi...
